Les Jumeaux has extremely spacious accommodation comprising our two adjoining gites, ideally suited for couples both young and mature, or a family of up to 9. Situated in the heart of the countryside but within easy reach of La Fleche with its famous Zoo; Baugé with its Chateau and Apothecary; the Chateau of Le Lude; and Noyant, our holiday cottages are ideal for those who want peace and quiet but local attractions are also within easy reach. Virtually equidistant from these four local towns, all boasting weekly markets, supermarkets and other modern amenities, the property is also ideally located for visiting the many and varied attractions of the Pays de la Loire including the cities of Le Mans, Angers, Saumur, Tours and Nantes with all they have to offer. The cottages were fully renovated (from an uninhabitable state!) in 2009/10 and equipped to a high standard including cooking and dining facilities. Unlike many rental properties, our furniture and fittings were bought new for the gites. They comprise one half of a traditional 400 year old 'Longere' Farmhouse which is part of a Lieu-Dit noted in the French Government Patrimoine (Heritage) lists. Parts of the property are recorded as being built originally during the early 1600's, quite possibly during the reign of Louis XIV (The Sun King). Each has a semi - enclosed rear garden for the exclusive use of the gite occupants, a dedicated area within the Courtyard and access to most of the rest of the surrounding gardens. ****Please note that we have no reviews yet for Les Jumeaux because to date it has rarely been let as 'Les Jumeaux' which comprises both our gites (Le Petit Bosquet & Le Vieil Atelier) as a joint let. Interaction with guests
Before you arrive, we ask when your arrival time is likely to be so that we can aim to be here for you - only under exceptional circumstances would this differ. We also ask if you have any specific interests or things you'd like to do so that some of the suggested activities can be drawn to your attention. When you arrive, we show you around the property outside and do a tour of inside, drawing your attention to various things of importance or interest and are also available to respond to questions. We live on site so allowing for leading our own lives we are generally available to assist with enquiries and so on whilst you are here. Besides that, we aim to be friendly...or not, as you prefer.

Additional amenities & feature info
The two gites are 'semi-detached' with a door connecting the two at the top of the staircases. Each gite is entered via its own front door, with separate access to each garden; which also have a connecting gate. This means that separate families holidaying together do have the option to stay in their 'own space' or share, as they wish. Both gites are recently renovated and are effectively 'none identical twins' - one is a little larger than the other and is decorated in a slightly more 'contemporary' style than it's 'chintzy' twin but all equipment and facilities are duplicated so there is the facility to cook and eat separately or watch different TV programmes (and listen to different music!) if you so choose! The kitchens are well equipped with plenty of crockery, cutlery and glasses and also with scales, recipe books and various baking dishes for those who don't have the opportunity to be creative except when on holiday. There are separate small kitchen tables and chairs in each kitchen in addition to those in the Salons. In addition to the facilities listed above there are also slow cookers, food processors and deep fat fryers, so you are not restricted to absolute basic cooking - unless you choose to be! The larger gite also has a separate utility room and downstairs wet room (shower + loo) whilst the smaller has a separate WC downstairs. Cleaning equipment and clothes airers are provided. Each Salon is furnished with two large sofas, and large flat screen plasma TVs with free-to-view UK satellite channels and French digital programmes. They also have Blu-Ray DVD players and Hi-Fi with iPod/MP3 inputs. In each, the larger of the two sofas converts into a double bed with sprung mattress so up to 8 adult guests may be accommodated - see rental details. For those with more traditional interests we also have a range of books, puzzles & games. Of course, each salon also has its own dining table and 6 chairs. Upstairs, the spacious bedrooms each have exposed beams and plenty of storage. In front each of the South facing full length (dormer) windows with Juliette balconies, there are easy chairs and a coffee table, which overlook the Courtyard Rose garden and the countryside to the South of the property. Each en-suite has a large walk-in shower. With the adjoining door at the top of the stairs open, the two bedrooms are just a couple of steps away from each other Guests who have already stayed here have frequently said that our photos do not do the property justice when trying to illustrate the spaciousness the cottages have. Unlike some gite offerings this combination is very spacious indeed, larger than most 4/5 bedroom homes in the UK in terms of overall area.

About the neighborhood
Genneteil has at its heart a Norman Church which acts as a roundabout of sorts connecting the roads coming from all directions. Essentially a rural community, Genneteil has no particular claim to fame (except its history) but the locals are very friendly - especially if you take the opportunity to practice your French! Despite this, Genneteil is well placed - if it were a mountain, it would be the peak! Major Cities, autoroutes and good transport links (including rail and air) surround Genneteil on all sides - essentially less than 1 hour in any direction. There is a dairy from which you can purchase fresh milk, cream, yoghurts and other dairy products. There is so much to see and do that it is difficult to know where to start! There are around 1000 Chateaux and many other sites of his...
Getting around
As we are in the middle of a rural area, your own transport is essential. Public Transport (buses) do run from and through local towns but they are unlikely to be suited to tourist visiting requirements. Trains (TGV & SNCF) run from Angers, Le Mans & Tours but these are all 45mins -1hour from our location.
