Reviewed January 4, 2014 for a stay in December 2013

The house was amazing. It was well equipped, with all that was mentioned on the site. There was even a bottle of wine waiting for us. Very welcome as the day we arrived all the alcohol shops were shut! It was quirkyand comfortable with amazing views. The people of the town were very friendly and I even met some of the people when i went to a church service on a friday afternoon for the welcoming of the flame from Bethlehem. The people made me feel welcome even though I only had a basic command of french. The area is full of things to see which we found form the information that was in the drawers. The books made for something to read and learn from. We enjoyed a meal at the central hotel. The local shop keepers were very friendly and helpful when we weren't sure what we were buying. I can thoroughly recommend the house and the town. We chose to use the downstairs bathroom and bedroom as a dressing room to save us carrying our cases up the stairs and that worked a treat. About the neighborhood
The area is one of great historic interest spanning many centuries. There are a variety of places to visit in the footsteps of Richard the Lionheart ranging from Coussac Bonneval and the Chateau de Bonneval to Arnac-Pompadour, which boasts a fine chateau. We are also very close to the Blond Mountains, which have marvellous walks, and the ancient village of Montmartre, where an art or antique show is often in progress.
