This centuries old fully renovated water mill is partly inhabited by the owner while another part (the part that is located on the bank of the river) is set up as an independent gite. The gite has a private entrance and a number of terraces and a large garden with total privacy. The house is situated on an 8 acre wooded and hilly estate at the foot of the forested Pyrenees mountains., where you can ski in the winter or make beautiful walks during spring, summer and autumn. A 45 miunute drive brings into Spain via the 8 km long Somport tunnel under the mountains. Your car has to be be parked on the other side of the river from where a private bridge gives you access to the house. A small branch of the river runs under the house. The gite has a spacious kitchen with all the amenities of a normal house: stove, oven, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, toaster, coffee maker (Nespresso and also a regular Melitafilter device), iron and ironing board. The sitting room has a 3-seater sofa, a two-seater sofa and an armchair. There is satellite TV with access to the Dutch Canaaldigitaal ' Entertainment package ', BBC and CNN and a WiFi internet connection throughout the house.More

About the neighborhood
This centuries old watermill is located at the foot of the Pyrenees mountains at the bank of the Ourtau river which is a tributory of the Gave d' Aspe, which flows from the border of Spain to Oloron St. Marie and beyond. The area is known for its beautiful forests at the edge of the Pyrenees National Park. There are several ski areas within 45 minute drive from our house. Skiing season runs from end of November to end of April. Activities in the neighborhood: scenic drives, bird watching, walking, playground, water park for kids (AquaBearn), waterfalls, winery tours (the Jurançon wine), visit the Betharram caves near the pilgrimage town Lourdes, the bastion city of Navarrenx built in the year 1360, walk through the famous Kakuetta Gorge or take your surf board and drive to the beautiful b...
