Beautiful place
Myself and my partner Jane have spent an amazing week at Moor cottage it has everything you need, we was greeted with fresh homemade scones clotted cream and jam which were absolutely delicious. It was very clean and tidy. I went fishing on one of the many lakes. Its safe to say we will be back again 😊

A wonderfully cosy and well equipped retreat
We were very impressed with everything about Moor Cottage and the East Rose complex as a whole. Our hosts, Matthew and Becky were extremely friendly and helpful and we really couldn’t have wished for more. The cottage was well equipped, with everything we needed for our 7 day holiday and the cottage was always warm and cosy. The location was superb and our dogs enjoyed their evening walks around the beautiful lakes each evening after their day walking many miles along various parts of the Cornish coastline! Overall, a perfect location for a perfect holiday!

Beautiful location for a stay in North Cornwall
This was our second visit to East Rose and Moor Cottage. It has everything you need with a glorious view over the moor, as the name suggests. A nice cream tea is there to greet you on arrival and as long as you don't tell Becky and Matt you put jam on first everything will be fine. The cottage is very cosy and comfy and is the perfect base for exploring North Cornwall with Port Isaac, Constantine Bay, Padstow, Rock, Polzeith, Tintagel, Bocastle, Widemouth Bay and Bude all within 30 minutes drive. Becky's home cooking is a bonus and I can thoroughly recommend the quiche, the pasties, the millionaires shortbread - well, everything really. If you fancy a day chilling then the grounds and lakes give you a nice tranquil place to sit and just relax. And then you can walk down the road and have a gentle stroll on the moor if you so wish. Local pub The Old Inn is just 5 mins away by car and serves unbelievable food that simply cannot be beaten. I can thoroughly recommend East Rose and we are already planning next year.

Everything and more we could have wanted for the perfect holiday.
Becky & Mathew had thought of everything. The Moor cottage is so cosy, spacious and such a relaxing place to be in. You can spend a lot of time just exploring the walks around the farm and lakes. There was a lovely view from the windows of the moor which in April was covered in yellow gorse and bluebells. Also ponies with their foals, baby rabbits and lots of lambs. The Camel Trail made a lovely place to walk or hire bikes. So many places to visit countryside or coast within easy distance whatever time of year. Serious walkers arel catered for as well. Becky makes superb cakes and quiches to order and a lovely cream tea was there on our arrival. They have thought of everything you might need for a very comfortable stay. We can't wait to stay again.

An amazing and relaxing place to stay for a holiday. We love it, and so does Toffee our Dog.
The surroundings at East Rose are wonderful. Walking around the fishing lakes and sitting for a while, was great relaxation. The cottage is well equipped with all that we needed, and a Devon cream tea awaited us on our arrival. The home bakes are well worth sampling too, compliments to the baker! Great walks nearby on the moor, but also very handy to coastal places like, Padstow, Polzeath, Port Isaac and Boscastle. Matthew, Becky and the children made us feel very welcome, so thanks to them. We’ll hope to return for a third visit.

Peaceful and welcoming
This was our first time to East Rose and it won't be the last. Moor cottage was cosy and comfortable with everything you need to make it feel like home. It was very dog friendly with plenty of walking around the cottages and on the moor. The location is beautiful and so peaceful with beautiful views and a picturesque fishing lake with well kept grass pathways. The coastal attractions are only about 10 miles away and the tranquility of the site is a welcome relief from the busy towns of Padstow, Port Isaac and Boscastle, all withing 20/30 minutes away. Becky and Matthew were perfect hosts and were always on hand if needed, I would recommend Becky's home cooking as her scones and quiche were delicious. My only slight irritation was that the wifi would lose connection on a regular basis and had to re-connected at least daily but other than that we had a great holiday and would recommend it if you like a quiet and restful getaway.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay and for your lovely comments about the cottage, grounds and homemade treats. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us in Moor cottage, and that you hope to return! Sorry to hear the wifi kept losing connection for you. We are continuously looking at ways to improve the connection and speeds we can get here at East Rose as we recognise that having a good internet connection for guests (and us as a business) is so important. At the last time of asking, BT quoted us almost £50,000 for an installation fee to improve what we already offer - as you can imagine, we are still looking into alternative options!!! Hopefully this is something we can improve though, before your next visit. Many thanks again for taking the time to review your stay. Becky and Matt

Snug cottage in a beautiful setting
I have been visiting East Rose for almost a decade, and our stay in Moor Cottage this year was no disappointment. All of the cottages are gorgeous and incredibly cosy, with everything you need for a week's stay or longer (although Moor is our favourite!). The lakes are beautiful, great for a stroll or a picnic, and the surrounding moorland is equally lovely. Matthew and Becky were kind, helpful, and efficient as always. I cannot recommend East Rose enough, and can't wait for our inevitable next visit!

Outdoor Therapy
We were made very welcome despite the constraints of pandemic rules. The cottage was well equipped and comfortable. The location is ideal for those like us who enjoy hill-walking; it is possible to walk out to the higher summits and tors on the moor without having to get into the car first. he pub and shop in St.Breward are also within walking distance of the front door.

Cosy, comfortable cottage in a unique location.
We loved our stay in Moor Cottage at East Rose. The cottage was well equipped and extremely cosy in a stunning location with views out onto Bodmin Moor. Becky and Matthew made us extremely welcome including a delicious cream tea on arrival to help us settle in. Loved the grounds around the cottages - the onsite lakes were great to explore with surprise picnic locations dotted around. Ideally located to explore Cornwall, we'd strongly recommend a stay here. Looking forward to returning soon and thanks for a great holiday!

Moor Cottage
We really enjoyed staying at this cottage it was really homely and had some beautiful views. The owners Mathew and Becky were really friendly and helpful and also offer some lovely homemade goodies for you to purchase at a very reasonable price. We found the property central to most places we wanted to visit so was ideal for us. The cottage was very clean and well maintained and the 5 lakes within the grounds were a pleasant walk for the dogs. We would definitely return.

About the neighborhood
East Rose is perfectly located to explore the wonders of Bodmin Moor - on foot or cycle, or to explore all that Cornwall has to offer. We are only a 10 minute drive to the main A30 that runs through Cornwall. One of the closest towns to East Rose is Wadebridge. You will find several restaurants and pubs, and quaint shops. Local attraction include The Camel Trail - an off road cycle route running from Wenford Bridge (10 minute drive from East Rose) to Padstow, following the Camel Estuary, Camel Valley Vineyard, The Eden Project, Lanhydrock House, as well as the towns and villages of Padstow, Port Isaac, Rock, Newquay and Polzeath. Within 1.5 hours of East Rose, you can drive to Lands End, the most westerly point of mainland Cornwall.
Getting around
East Rose is located in a rural setting on Bodmin Moor. A car is essential to get around to see the sights. St Breward is the closest village, a leisurely 35 minute walk. The closest train station is Bodmin Parkway (located out of Bodmin town itself), and cars can be hired from Bodmin town. You can arrange for a taxi to collect you from the station to take to you the town centre. If you are feeling energetic, you can bring your bike and cycle around the moors (on the roads). This will be a great way to see the sights and nature of the moors at close hand. The Camel Trail (cycle route from Wenford Bridge to Padstow) is also only a few miles from East Rose, and definitely worth a visit.

How to get there
Although in a very rural moorland location, all of Cornwall is very accessible from East Rose as we are only a short drive from the main A30 road that runs through the county. A car would be recommended for a holiday at East Rose. East Rose is located on Bodmin Moor, above the ancient Delphy Bridge between the villages of Blisland and St Breward. If you have a Sat Nav, it should bring you to us once you are off the A30. The post code is PL30 4NL. Latitude: 50’33’18.73'N. Longitude: 4’39'42.20'W **Please note that there have been recent road upgrades on the A30 between Temple and Bodmin, which have included the dualling of the road, and also the addition of three new over head bridges. You may find this confuses your sat nav slightly.** From Exeter / M5 / A30 From the M5 at Exeter, take the A30 for approximately 58 miles, until you get to the bottom of a slight rise in the road, and there is an exit for St Breward. This area is called Temple. Take this exit, and cross over the A30 on the new bridge (Temple Tor Bridge). You will have bypassed the towns of Okehampton and Launceston when on the A30. Bodmin town is approximately 5 miles from here, East Rose is approximately 3 miles from here. **(If you miss this first bridge, you can take the second or third bridge shortly after and get to East Rose via the village of Blisland). Continue on this moorland road. After approximately 1.5 miles you will pass Bradford Lodge on your left hand side. Follow this road around the bend to the left. The road will be quite narrow here, with large trees around you. Pass Moss Cottage (also on your left). The road will open up again to open moorland. You will pass a property on your right (North Kerrow). Continue down the hill. You will then get to a junction with a granite sign post with a right turn to St Breward and Camelford - take this (East Rose is only about 1 mile away). You will pass Penquite Kennels and Cattery on your left hand side. Go over the bridge at Delphy, East Rose is located just past the bridge on the right. From Plymouth / A38 / A30 From Plymouth, head towards Bodmin, travelling on the A38 for approximately 32 miles. You will pass the town of Liskeard. Once at Bodmin, you will need to join the A30 and head towards Launceston for approximately 5 miles. Pass two petrol stations/garages on your left, and go under two bridges. Take the exit just before the third bridge (Temple Tor Bridge), sign posted for St Breward. East Rose is approximately 3 miles from here.
