Central location
Three of us recently stayed, price reduction so didn't worry about being too big for us. House is lovely and spacious, ideal for larger groups. Just a few little gripes though, the trees in the front garden were very overgrown and blocking all natural light. The rear courtyard was a bit messy and neglected, easily sorted? The TV is old and not a smart one. The kettle had not been descaled resulting in spoiled drinks. Replace or clean. Pickering is a lovely town with great restaurants and a great Monday market day. The steam train (expensive) and Coastliner bus stopping daily. We had a lovely week.

Great holiday house.
We visited as a family of 6 adults and 5 young children to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday (unfortunately 2 adults and 1 baby couldn't make it). The property was perfect. The location was ideal for our needs and there was plenty of space inside the house. We appreciated the extras like tea towels and toilet rolls which are often lacking in holiday lets. Garry was very helpful and communication was great. We would have no hesitation in recommending this property and hope to come and stay again in the future.

Home from home comforts
I and my friends can highly recommend this holiday let. After the initial confusion of the whereabouts of the key (not helped by the pouring rain), we found the property to have everything we needed. It is ideally located in the centre of town which has an excellent selection of eating places and general stores. Places of interest include a museum, castle and a selection of bars and pubs! You won't be disappointed if you book this holiday let ... but make sure you have the number for the key safe before you arrive!

Unsatisfactory
This place is dirty outside the court yard and garden dirty had to clean up wipes and clean furniture before sitting in the area it was full of weeds as was the front bit of garden. The windows are rotten and very dirty it has not been cleaned for months. The kitchen the cupboard fronts are so old that the veneer is falling off the 2 showers the grouting is disgusting so dirty. When you use the bath the water comes through the ceiling it is not worth a third of the money we paid what a total let down

Lovely all round
We had a friends and kids weekend away and the house couldn't have been more perfect. We really loved the space and quirky features of the house. Very well equipped and comfortable. The location was perfect to get to different places and the kids particularly enjoyed the steam railway station being so close. Everybody couldn't fault the house and would love to stay here again. :)

Stunning house in the perfect location
A well presented house in a perfect location for a holiday in north yorkshire. The Ropery is central to the shops, pubs and cafes and is opposite the train station. With Dolby forest, flamingo land and Whitby so close it really is the perfect location. Alison and Gary have put a lot of effort into this house and it really shows, even down to a cabinet full of games which the kids loved! My only regret is that we didnt spend more time there. I thoroughly recomend this house to anyone, you couldnt do better!

Great accommodation in lovely location
We booked this house to celebrate a big family event with nine of us in attendance. We were greeted with a complimentary bottle of wine and chocolates. The house was warm (it was a bitterly cold weekend) with well furnished rooms and enough personal space. The only downside was a small leak that appeared from the upstairs shower room. The location as great, at the bottom of the town, you could fall out of bed for the steam train which we went to Whitby on and it was a short scenic car ride to Robin Hoods Bay. On the Monday we strolled through Pickering market, church and toured the Castle. A great weekend that was enhanced by the location. Highly recommended.

Weekend away
Lovely property which delivers on its promise... however there is a massive downside. We booked for a family weekend for my husbands 60th birthday, we could not access the property until 4pm on the Friday and the checkout time was 9am on the Sunday. We had an 8 year old, a 6 year old and a 2 year old with us so trying to get them breakfast was impossible. We had to have an earlier night on Saturday than we would have liked due to having to get up so early but it was pointless due to people leaving the pubs and shouting, Friday night this went on till 4am. Realistically this was a day and a half stay for £600+ so it was extremely expensive. Therefore we wouldn't choose this property again.

Aw really sorry to read this. We have to have set times to allow time for changeovers, however will always try and be flexible when asked for early arrivals or late check outs. I really wish that you had asked as we would definitely have tried to accommodate where possible. If you do change your mind please do contact me and I will do my upmost to help. Have a lovely rest of your weekend. Alison xxx
