Spacious, well equipped house, perfect for our 2 families
Our party of 9 had a fantastic stay at Primrose House. Caroline was very helpful with our questions in the lead up to our visit.
The house had everything we needed - and more.
It felt spacious and there was a great selection of books and games for the children.
Ilfracombe is a great base for exploring the local area - Woolacombe and Croyde beaches a highlight. Lovely coast walks.
Can recommend Ilfracombe museum for a rainy day!

Perfect for a family holiday
Primrose House is really characterful and spacious, in a quiet location with impressive views, yet a short walk from the amenities of the town. The house was very clean and there were lots of useful instructions and thoughtful items. The owner, Caroline, was very helpful with communications and answering queries. We enjoyed a BBQ in the courtyard back garden and also a glass of wine sat on the bench at the front! It was our third attempt at staying here (covid got in the way twice), but it was worth the wait.

Family Holiday
Just back home from a week in Devon staying at Primrose House. There were 9 of us in total 5 adults and 4 children 9, 13, 12 and 15. The house is ideally placed for all amenities with parking outside for both cars. The house is beautifully furnished and has all you need for your stay. Unfortunately there was a problem with the shower on the top floor so it was out of use but Caroline the owner very kindly r refunded us some monies for the inconvenience and we managed quite well. The weather was quite unsettled but despite that we had a great time.
We would happily return to Primrose House again.

Well what can i say, the moment you walk in the door the Georgian features sing out to you, the open plan kitchen and courtyard are fabulous, you can not fault the place.
Loads of entertainment for the children ie books, games, dvds and music.
The courtyard has an ample bbq perfect after a long day at the beach.
All the utensils you could possibly need are there on hand.
The facilities are fabulous, the bedrooms and bathrooms are beautiful.
The best bit the view, out of my bedroom window
out this world, a short walk into town where there is shops, pubs restaurants and alsorts of crafts and playareas for the children.
Truly amazing house, the weather was beautiful had a fabulous time.
Thankyou for everything nothing was any trouble.

Pretty much everything you need...
Just got back from a weeks break in Ilfracombe and can highly recommend staying here. The house is a 3 storey Victorian terrace situated at the top of the town. Things we really appreciated was the house was well thought through, everything you needed for self catering. We found a nice balance of eating out several nights and cooking in. The house is in a good location being a nice if not hilly stroll into the town for an evening meal. There is a pretty church we walked through at the end of the road which took us straight down to the town and shops and restaurants. The weather was a bit naff whilst we were down but we still went in the sea every day with wet suits. Ilfracombe is very well situated near all the best Beaches including croyde and Woolacombe. Caroline the owner touched based with some recommendations once we booked and this was helpful. Caroline recommended a walk from Ilfracombe to ley along the coastal paths which we did and again it was hilly but worth it. We found a nice little bakers and butchers near by plus short walks to co-op and Lidl for supplies so again all very handy and easy. Restaurants I can recommend are terrace tapas and antidote. All made for a lovely little break. We will definitely come back to north Devon. Only negative for us personally is the bedrooms in the house were very very light we both have trouble sleeping so heavy blinds or black out blinds are ideal but that might not be the case for everyone. We both normally pack eye masks for this reason but might be helpful for someone reading this review to bear in mind!

Beautiful Town House
We have just got back after staying 1 week in this beautiful house.
3 generations and there was plenty of room in this well equipped house.
With 2 beautiful bathrooms it made life easy.
Court yard garden a pleasure to sit out in.
Walking distance to town and shops and Harbour.
Would highly recommend the property.

House was very spacious for 5 Adults and an 8yr old,and 4 yr old. Also an enclosed yard for our westie. In walking distance of town and shops, and plenty of taxis if you didnt want to walk home after a night spent in ilfracombe. Highly recommend this lovely house, that was clean and tidy, and furnished beautifully. Great holiday house that had a Victorian feel to it.

Perfect for an extended family
A real gem! A beautifully presented house with large airy rooms all with period features plus all the mod cons one could require. A great location with lovely views across the valley and a glimpse of the sea from the front bedrooms-only 10 mins walk from the centre of Ilfracombe and the Tunnels beaches and easy on road parking. Even the bathrooms were huge with both shower cubicles and large freestanding bath tubs. Were were three generations with the youngest being teenagers but there was space for everyone and the teenagers could go off on their own. There is a park at the end of the road for letting off steam as there is no garden but that is the only flaw! A perfect homely base for exploring north Devon. Definitely recommend.

Hi David.
Thanks for your kind review and I'm pleased to hear that you all enjoyed the house and it's facilities.
As you know we do have a patio area at the rear of the house, but outdoor garden space is generally limited in the Ilfracombe area with its proximity to the coast and Torrs.
We'd be happy to have you stay with us again next time you are in the North Devon area 😊

Perfect place for a holiday
Lovely, big old Victorian terrace full of character in a good position. There was 8 of us and the house accommodated us wonderfully. Very well equipped, there wasn't anything we needed that we couldn't find. The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is because we found some of the mattresses on the beds uncomfortable.
