We have stayed in several places in the Cairngorms and this is up there with the best. The cottage is spacious and has everything you need. Even the WiFi is reasonably fast. The location is good for accessing the Cairngorms National Park - you can get to Aviemore and Coylumbridge in 20 minutes or so, but there are plenty of good places to go in the immediate area - including horse riding, zip-wiring and water-based adventures. Don't forget to visit the local specialist cheese shop in Kingussie. There is also a fantastically well-stocked second hand book shop for all your holiday reading. The owners are very helpful and easy-going. Recommended.

The house was great. We had previously rented the one next door and thought we'd go back. The key arrangements work well, and we had a warm welcome. It's a spacious property, very comfortable for two adults. It's well equipped with a good dishwasher, a large fridge and everything you need to prepare and enjoy a meal if you want to do that. There is a spacious porch at the front of the house so outdoor clothes and boots etc can be left there to air and/or dry (if you are unlucky enough have rain). The house was very clean and well presented with guidelines in relation to Covid-19, and we had no concerns on that front. The house is well positioned for walks and outings, and there are bikes on site for your use. Several walks start from the house including visiting the Insh Marshes reserve. The Ruthven Barracks is adjacent to the house. The Highland Wildlife Park is a favourite when in the area (it's a short drive away), and we found their visitor arrangements and facilities to be well organised - this visit was during Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, and it felt only a bit different from other visits we have made over the years, if a bit busier than expected. In spite of the upsurge in visitors because of restrictions on travel abroad, the Kingussie and Feshie area in general was not busy compared to other parts of the Spey Valley and so it was a peaceful stay. Kingussie has good local services, plenty of food opportunities and Newtonmore is not too far away for those who hanker after bright lights :-) Not sure why, but this site no longer allows visitor photos to be uploaded re visits to holiday rentals. Wir waren 12 Tage in Schottland und uns war "Spindrift" empfohlen worden. Wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Das Ferienhaus hat eine tolle Größe und ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Sehr sauber und die Vermieter sind unheimlich nett und hilfsbereit. Ruhige Lage, Zusatzangebot Fahrräder und Tischtennisplatte kamen bei uns gut an. Wir können Spindrift auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen!

As usual we had a warm welcome from the owners Judy and Jules. It was so lovely to return to a great place to stay that is both comfortable and cosy. The countryside was beautiful and never disappoints, found new places to visit and despite the weather being a bit up and down plenty of walking was done. Would recommend this cottage to anyone as it’s perfectly positioned to travel into the Cairngorms without touching a main road. Thanks for a great stay we will be back!

Spindrift cottage is located just outside of Kingussie. The cosy accommodation is lovely; decorated and furnished to a high standard, well maintained and well equipped. The living room has patio doors opening out onto a decking area with a table and chairs where we sat out to eat a number of times. A selling point for us was the large garden where our kids could play safely as well as an additional room (shared with the adjoining cottage) with a table tennis table and bikes. The location was also very tourist friendly with the Highland Wildlife Park just a few miles away and Landmark Adventure Park within easy commuting distance as well as other local attractions. Kingussie has a coop which had everything we needed for our basic shopping and there were also takeaway and restaurant options when we weren't in the mood for cooking. The owners were friendly and keen to make sure our stay was as enjoyable as possible. We would certainly be looking this cottage up again if we're planning to be back in the area.

We spent a week at the cottage and had a fantastic time. The cottage was spacious and exceptionally clean with everything you could possibly need and more! Perfect for a family of four. The setting is very peaceful and away from the town but still close enough to walk to shops every day. Our kids loved watching the rabbits and feeding the birds in the garden everyday. We found it very central for a lot of the walks and visitor attractions in the nearby towns We made our booking from outside of the UK and the booking process and organization went very smoothly without issues. Judy and Jules were very helpful with all questions asked.We highly recommend a stay here.

This cottage is in a beautiful spot for access to walking, bird watching, distilleries etc in the Kingussie area. Only l mile from the RSPB bird reserve. There is free WiFi which unlike so many cottages had decent bandwidth. The cottage is well equipped with everything you need and the hosts are most helpful, providing information about the area and useful advice. I would heartily recommend this cottage.

We went to Spindrift Cottage for 10 days for our honeymoon and had the most relaxing and wonderful time! The cottage was warm and cosy; it was very clean and had all the amenities we needed. We would watch the birds coming to the feeders or pay table tennis! We visited Loch Ness, went up the mountains and went to the Highland zoo. The views driving around were very beautiful. We saw deer and a golden eagle! We will defintiely be returning and thank you to Jules and Judy for being the best hosts!

A great location just outside Kingussie. Super for bird watching, RSPB Insh Marsh a short distance away. Marvellous for photography with many wonderful trees and landscapes. A warm welcome from the owners and a very comfortable cottage with great amenities, a superb place to return to at the end of the day.
