Situated in a peaceful location with views across the countryside to Scarlett and Port St Mary yet only 2 minutes walk from the Southern 100 and 8 minutes stroll from the centre of the town, where there are Shops, Supermarkets, Post Office, Restaurants and 5 Public Houses not to mention the Medieval Castle, Old House of Keys, Nautical Museum and Old Grammar School, which are all located in the centre of the Isle of Man's historic capital, Castletown. On arrival guests are greeted personally, given a short tour around the cottage and the keys are handed over.

Kim was brilliant to deal with from the first moment. There were lovely touches in the cottage, fresh flowers, a welcome basket, spare toiletries and the cottage itself was cosy and warm. Beds were very comfortable and the kitchen extremely well equipped. We found Castletown a great place to stay with some good places to eat and some great pubs!...

Every amenity you could need has been considered, standard of cleanliness and decor very high. Kim the owner is very helpfull. Weather not too good during our stay, but that didn't matter as we had such a comfortable cottage which was piping hot within 10 mins of putting the heating on, perfect place to dry out. Easy journey from the airport. A short walk from the town square, the harbour and the steam train station. The cottage is in excellent condition; clean, modern and every appliance you could think of. Red Gap Cottage is a charming three bedroom traditional Manx cottage in a peaceful location with views across the countryside to Scarlett and Port St Mary. Only 8 minutes stroll from the centre of the Isle of Mans historic capital, Castletown. Situated in the south of the Isle of Man Castletown is ideally located for exploring the Island. Well served by public transport you will find buses to connect with all parts of the Island and also a train station where you can catch the Steam Locomotive to Douglas. In Castletown don't miss the opportunity to visit Castle Rushen, originally built in 1265, it is now one of Europes most preserved Medieval castles. Getting around
The cottage is ideally situated for access to Public Transport. There are bus stops on both sides of the road within 200 metres of the cottage providing transport in one direction to Douglas where buses connect to all parts of the island and on the opposite side providing transport to Port Ern and Port St Mary.
The Castletown station for the Steam Train is approximately 10 minutes walk from the cottage.

Ferry: Douglas: 14.9 mi
The cottage is 20 minutes by car from the Douglas ferry port, take the A5 out of Douglas and follow the signs to Castletown. Buses run twice an hour from the Lord Street Bus terminus, 2 minutes walk from the Sea terminal and the bus stops only 200 yards from the front door of the cottage.
