Niton is a traditional, rural village on the south coast of the Isle of Wight with a 11th century church, post office, chemist, doctors, cafe, library, pottery, the White Lion Pub and large village store/off licence all within 100m of Kildare House. The famous Buddle Inn pub is a short walk within the village offering good food and a superb atmosphere. St. Catherine's Lighthouse dominates the coastine and is open to the public on certain dates.
Niton Undercliffe's Castlehaven offers a picturesque fishermans slipway and a secluded beach within a short distance. Nearby Steephill Cove is a traditional, unspoilt fishing cove with a safe, sandy beach, nestled between rocky cliffs and smugglers' coves offering locally caught cuisine. There are many child friendly sandy beaches within easy reach by car. Blackgang Chine Adventure Park is 5 minutes by car along the coast offering great value for families where entrance allows 7 days admission.
Niton is in an AONB (Area of National Beauty) and the National Trust owns the land nearby providing unspoilt coastal walks and cycling from the doorstep with St. Catherine's Down as a backdrop.
Nearby is Ventnor, the local Victorian seaside town offering a range of activities and services including the Botanical Gardens which contains many tropical plants due to the mild microclimate of the Undercliffe. Also close by is the pretty village of Godshill with its thatched cottages, model village and tea rooms.
