We stayed for 3 nights, a party of 4 adults and 2 young children. The accommodation was spotless on arrival, and is in beautiful, peaceful surroundings. The owners are located next door, were very friendly and knew on hand if needed but not at all intrusive. Thank you for the delicious homemade cream cakes on arrival, much appreciated! I found this property by googling 'pet friendly' and then saw lots of positive reviews so I enquired. However, after the owner sent me the policy on dogs I decided not to take my collie and that proved to be the right decision because the house isn't really appropriate. Sorry the property was not ideal for you. We had spoken to some guests staying over this period but not to you personally, and they were very happy with everything. Guests are provided with details before they arrive and on arrival stating they should let us know if they need anything or have a problems, we only live next door....

The conversion is of the very highest standard with full central heating. With the oak floors and cupboards, and attractive beams situated throughout this 200 year old property it combines many original features with all the modern essentials for comfortable living.On the ground floor there is a very large lounge / diner with soft seating for 6; plasma TV, dvd, radio, ipod docking facilities, large round 6 seater dining table.& 6 chair.The doors off the lounge / diner lead to the kitchen, toilet and a there is lockable dog kennel area.The owners live on site to help with information or difficulties.

The day rates are set for 3 (or 4 night) stops, if you have more nights the average day rate is reduced from that quoted above.Pets may be allowed by prior arrangement, there is a specific lockable dog kennel area in doors, an extra charge of £5 a day is made for a dog.We are not set up for card payment, so please use a cheque or internet / bank transfer.A 35% deposit is required to confirm the booking with the balance due 8 weeks before arrival.Groups may be accepted but we would require details in advance & a deposit may be asked for.Check in time from 3 pm - Checkout by 10am NB - a maximum of 6 visitors are allowed at any one time, if more are coming this has to be arranged prior to their arrival.

We are only 3 miles from J27 of the M1 & there is a train station at Newstead which is only three quarters of a mile from the Granary.
