Standing alone in a beautiful sheltered location, surrounded by pine trees, this cottage offers peace and tranquillity for a relaxing break away from the stress of modern life. This region is part of the North Pennines, known as England's Last Wilderness. It is a paradise for walkers and mountain bikers with numerous paths and trails to delight all abilities. The stunning countryside provides the perfect habitat for an abundance of wildlife. Deer and rabbits can often be seen wandering around the garden of the cottage. There is also a newly created enclosed large natural garden which is children and dog friendly. The nearby hotel, The Lord Crewe, serves meals and has a public bar and is a 15 minute walk to the village of Blanchland . A short drive is Derwent Reservoir, the second largest reservoir in the North East. The south-western area has been managed as a nature reserve since 1967 with a diverse range of breeding birds and wildfowl. The reservoir is stocked with rainbow and brown trout. There is also a sailing club and a picnic area. The market town of Hexham, 11 miles, provides a good selection of amenities including cafes, pubs, restaurants, super markets, swimming pool and theatre. Hi place was absolutely wonderfull beautiful settings, cottage was so well equipt everything u could ever need and more. They thought of everything. Very comfortable and cosy will definitely be back.

Set beside the river in a wooded section of the upper Derwent valley, Blanchland is one of most attractive small villages in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Lying beneath magnificent fells, it is a conservation village built of stone from the remains of the 12th century Abbey. There is a special atmosphere and the village is steeped in history.
