Fantastic - highly recommended
Our 5th holiday at Combrew Farm . As always, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The new kitchen/diner conversion compliments this stunning cottage. This 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom cottage is ideal for larger families or those wanting more space. The swimming pool is the warmest I have ever been in, the spa jets are very relaxing, and my son enjoyed trying to swim in the swimming jets. There is also table tennis and a pool table. For the children 'the park' as my son called it is a winner, with numerous trampolines and climbing frames to play on, rabbits and goats to feed. Nothing is too much trouble for the Tucker family, who go out of their way to make this an outstanding place to stay!

Fantastic for all the family
We stayed at Combrew Farm, in Rose Cottage, last year and this year came back again - does that say it all ?!? We love it ! The Cottage is superb, well fitted out with plenty of space for our group of ages from 6 months to 62 years. One major convenience - if I can use that word - is that there are 3 bath/shower rooms and a downstairs toilet which makes getting up and out in the morning much quicker ! The new kitchen is stunning with a huge table making for room for all to sit and socialise together. Everything inside was clean and ready when we arrived. We had pre-ordered a grocery delivery and it had all arrived and been put away for us before we got there - brilliant! There are enough pots and pans, crockery and cutlery for all so no pressure on the washing up which ideal for those of us doing the cooking.
The facilites on site mean that there is always something to do on a wet day or in the evening. We could play pool (50p) or swim in the pool. Play table tennis or badminton. The big kids and the little kids like the trampolines and the rabbits. The computer means those who must can keep up with emails and the internet.
The location is good, there is lots to do in the area with parks, shops, beaches all within short drives. We would particularly recommend Borough Farm on Wednesday evenings and the park in Bideford has an amazing free play/ climbing area and paddling pool for little ones.
My dilemma now - given that we love coming here so much - is... do I tell others or keep this wonderful place secret so we can always come again ?!?! Must book now for 2012!!

Another great holiday at Rose Cottage
This was our third stay at Rose Cottage and we had another lovely holiday. On arrival the cottage was perfectly clean and the owners had kindly put away all our supermarket shopping which I had ordered online. We have twin girls and the owners were happy to provide 2 travel cots and highchairs. The property is spacious and the new open plan kitchen diner is a fab space for the whole family. The onsite swimming pool is the best we have experienced and the outdoor childrens play area is great too. The location is really handy for trips to Barnstaple or Braunton beaches and the cafe at Fremington (about 5 mins away) does a great cream tea. Overall a fantastic place for a family holiday, the only addition we could suggest would be some plastic plates/cups for the little ones in the family to use.

Luxury Self Catering
I booked last minute to stay here with my husband, our new baby and the dog. What a stroke of luck for us that there happened to be availability at Rose Cottage. The cottage had all the facilities you could wish for. Having a baby meant we spent most evenings 'in' and the well equipped kitchen made cooking evening meals easy with a dishwasher to help tidy up. The TV was great quality, and the washing machine and dryer also came in handy when I started to run out of baby clothes!
The pool was fabulous with the warm temperature of both the room and water meaning it was perfect for the babys first swim, and with the weather not being so hot, it gave us the feeling of summer heat. The other facilities such as the pool table, petting zoo and trampolines will definately be fun when we hope to return again with other family members with older children.
The owners are very very nice, friendly and helpful, but also let you have your own space so you can feel your holiday home is your own. A stay in any of the cottages is thoroughly recommended.
For things to do, we walked to Fremington Quay from the cottage and found they had the best freshly made cream teas and they even had homemade treats for the dog to enjoy. *You can drive there if you don't want to walk)
Instow is a nice place to take your dog for a run on the beach and both pubs there do great food. We found the cottages location great to drive to all the main resorts if you don't mind driving for upto an hour, we visited Ilfracoombe, Woolacoombe, Westwood Ho!, Lynmouth and even across the border to Bude - and all in a week. (Beautiful Beaches)

A week isn't long enough!
We have stayed in many holiday cottages over the years and so we arrived with pre-conceived ideas about what we had booked. I'm happy to say this exceeded even our expectations! The location is fabulous, with plenty to see and do in the surrounding areas. The farm itself is in a lovely quiet area, so we all slept really well. The cottage itself had everything we needed and the recent renovations had been done to a very high standard - a real home from home. The facilities for the children were excellent - ours loved the trampolines, the pool, the goats and rabbits and the indoor badminton court. We also booked the mobile beautician and had a lovely pampering session. The owners were really welcoming and friendly and we on hand to help if we needed anything. A week wasn't long enough for us - so we've already booked for 2013!!

Excellent Family Accommodation
We so enjoyed our stay at Rose Cottage. We were an extended family group ranging in ages from 5-70. The children loved the pool, play area, animals and badminton courts. We adults enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, excellent facilities and with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms there were no "queues". The large breakfast/dining room made for enjoyable family meals. Sue, John and their family were always on hand to answer questions and generally help but never intrusive. Having a supermarket delivery on day of arrival was a bonus but there are plenty of local shops and the Pannier Markets are great fun. The beaches are numerous. Walking to Framlingham Quay alolng the river to a brilliant little cafe was very relaxing and a wonderful place for a large breakfast on day of departure. We had a wonderful time.

Excellent Break
We had a fantastic week away with our 2 sons and their families. The cottage & facilities were all superb; We know the area well but that didnt make any difference and although the weather wasnt brilliant that didnt matter as we had plenty to do at Combrew Farm. Sue and John and their family were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them.

Excellant,Fantastic had a great time so we booked again next year.
We had an excellent time during our stay.
All of the amenities located at the cottage and surrounding areas we're fantastic for our extended party which ranged in age from 22 to 83.
Our longest journey to anywhere we visited was at most 30 minutes, which was Ilfracombe.
Rose Cottage, had 4 toilets and 3 showers, and one large bathroom with a corner bath! On top of this, one of the toilets is on the ground floor, which was great for the elder members of our party.
We enjoyed it so much, that we have already booked to return next year!

Lovely cottage, great facilities and good location
Our third holiday at Combrew so that should say it all! Rose cottage is spacious with a large open plan kitchen and dining area which we spent a lot of time in. It is clean with all the amenities you need. There is a lot to do on the farm itself with a lovely warm swimming pool, games room, outdoor play area and badminton and tennis court. Location is great only a couple of miles from Barnstaple town yet you are in the countryside. Close to the Tarka trail you can hire bikes from the farm at very good rates. You always get a warm welcome and the smallest of things like the wine, biscuits, eggs (from the farm), milk, tea and coffee on arrival are a lovely touch.
We would highly recommend Combrew cottages.

Lovely cottage in quiet surroundings with plenty to do in the area
This was our second stay in Rose Cottage and we loved the new bathrooms that have been put in since our last visit. Its a lovely, spacious cottage with everything you could need. The facilities on site are really good so you don't have to go anywhere if you just want to relax and unwind. We had good weather so we did get out and about in the area and there was plenty to do and some good restaurants for the days we didn't feel like cooking. The Tuckers are a lovely, welcoming family and very helpful if you need anything without being intrusive. Couldn't fault anything about our stay and we'll probably be back next year.

About the neighborhood
Barnstaple is the commercial centre of the region, combining sophisticated shopping with the bustling atmosphere of markets and speciality shops. The modern Green Lanes Shopping Centre compliments the traditional Pannier and Craft Markets held since 1855 in the Pannier Market Hall. This attractive market town is the oldest and largest town in North Devon, nestling in the Taw valley on the other side of the estuary which the Saxons first settled in Barnstaple (Barum) over 1000 years ago.The Long Bridge, crossing the tidal River Taw was thought to have been built in the 12th and 13th centuries and in Litchdon Street are located the Penrose Almshouses built in the early 17th century.
