Overview
Cottage -
1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 2
Barnard Castle, County Durham, England
We have just opened our new leisure facility, with a swimming pool, hot-tub, gym and games room. The pool and hot-tub are available to book for private use at no extra cost.

The holiday cottages are situated in Baldersdale (made famous as the former home of Hannah Hauxwell), two miles from the village of Cotherstone, which has two excellent pubs and a village shop/post office.

Holiday guests can enjoy nature walks around the estate, fishing on the estate and in nearby reservoirs, free-range eggs from the resident hens and seasonal food from the vegetable garden and orchard.

Lovely place, quiet with beautiful views. We stayed in the cottage with the open fire which was perfect for us. Hot tub and pool nice touch after a long day walking.

The owners Chris and Emma are so helpful and nothing to much trouble for them. On arrival we were greeted with some beautiful homemade buiscuts and we were able to buy fresh eggs which...

Circumstances have meant we didn't review this cottage immediately after our stay but that means we are able to give a considered report. We had a thoroughly enjoyable week in this lovely little cottage with its cosy sitting rooom, excellent new kitchen and comfortable bedroom. Yes, the sloping roof in the bathroom can be a bit awkward but it's only...

Additional amenities & feature info
Perhaps the most like "a traditional country cottage" of all our cottages. Upstairs has a bathroom and a good sized bedroom (with king-sized bed) which can take an extra folding bed. The fair sized sitting room downstairs has a matching sofa and easy chair. It also has an open fire - we provide free firewood. The kitchen/dining room overlooks the meadows and woods at the back of the farm.<BR>
