There is also a log burning stove in the living area for that extra cosy feeling on chilly nights! French Windows open out onto the patio and garden with a seating area and BBQ and there is a secluded 2 acre meadow available for guests about 200 metres away along our private track. This has a small picnic table where you can enjoy distant views of Dartmoor and the rolling Devon countryside, while you do a bit of wildlife spotting. There is private parking immediately behind the barn with an adjacent EV charger (small additional charge made for use). The local village, less than 10 minutes' drive away, has a friendly pub and shops.More

Raleigh lodge
I just come back from four nights stay at the lodge, what a lovely place it is to stay, a hidden gem. Myles and Sarah the owners were very hospitable and made our stay so special, the little extras and home made scone, jam and tub of cream that made the finishing touches. The lodge was spotlessly clean and has everything that one needs to make you feel at home. The log fire is a special feature and was lovely to sit in front of in the evening. Can definitely recommend and we will return.

Wonderful
Attention to detail in the cottage is so good. Lovely well maintained. Friendly helpful . Set in a central position with all the places you would wish to visit within a short drive. So nice to hear so many birds sing in the morning Biggest recommendation I would go back

Wonderful barn in a wonderful location!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Raleigh Barn! The barn is renovated beautifully and was a lovely and cosy place to stay. Myles and Sarah were so welcoming and Sally their dog was so friendly. The information guide was so helpful and included some lovely walks, both coastal and inland. We'd also recommend the Tarka Cycle trial which begins in Barnstaple. We would definitely come to stay again, thank you!

Spacious converted barn in quiet location.
Had a 3 night short break here and enjoyed a relaxing, quiet stay. Myles and Sarah were great hosts, welcomed us with a cake and fresh flowers. The barn is spacious, clean warm and has everything you would need. There are two bedrooms and shower/bathrooms, one at each end of the barn, so two couples or parents and children could have their own without disturbing the other. Outside there is a small seating area, and up a short track is a field with a picnic table. The location is quiet, and the roads nearby narrow and typical of the area, so allow extra time for getting around. Overall despite the weather, which went from sleet to sun, we had a relaxing time.

Home from home
Everything you could wish for in a holiday cottage! Only improvement needed would be a flatter outdoor seating/dining area for when the weather is good!

Lovely stay in the barn!
This house has been beautifully renovated and is in a beautiful location. We had a really peaceful stay. Everything has been thought of and the barn is really well set up. We arrived to a lovely homemade cake! There are loads of good tips in the guest book for nice things to do. Some of our favourites were sandymouth beach, Thai food at Moran's in westward ho and surfing with free wave academy.

Perfect holiday home in a beautiful location
We had an amazing week at Raleigh Barn. The accommodation is finished to a very high standard and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and the peaceful countryside setting is lovely. Myles and Sarah took in our grocery delivery for which we were very grateful and also left a scrumptious home made cake, a lovely thought after a long journey. We were made to feel very welcome especially by Sally the springer who we fell in love with, we were so sad to leave when our week was over. The barn is only 5 mins drive from the main road which took you to all the major tourist destinations and luckily we had fabulous weather to visit them all. We took full advantage of the garden to enjoy the evening sun with a nice glass of wine. Also the stars at night are amazing with no light pollution, wish we had brought our telescope. Finally thank you Myles and Sarah for providing us with such a lovely place to stay.

Wonderful stay at Raleigh Barn!
We had a wonderful stay at Raleigh Barn in May 2017. We were a family of three generations (Gran, Mum and Grandaughter). Gran is unable to work very well therefore this makes finding the right property difficult but Raleigh Barn was perfect for our requirements. Our food shop was ordered and out away before our arrival, a gorgeous homemade cake also waiting, and a warm we,come by Myles and Sarah, the lovely springer, Sally and the very funny hens. The Barn itself modern yet retains its lovely character, is warm cosy and snug. The surroundings in the countryside are heaven, and there is even meadow garden up the lane on site you can enjoy a picnic at! I personally enjoyed running around the country lanes and felt very at peace here. It is very convenient for lots of really great tourist attractions nearby and there is a most helpful guide on local attractions and things to do within the Barn - do read it! I hope to return one day. It really was a lovely week, and is highly recommended thank you.

Lovely, well renovated barn in a peaceful location
We had a wonderful stay in Raleigh Barn and were made to feel very welcome. The barn had a lovely, homely feel and was clean, spacious and well presented. The owners' house is nearby and they were on hand if needed (and indeed came around immediately to sort out a minor issue we had) however they were not intrusive. They even took in and unpacked our food shopping delivery which was excellent- we arrived to a fully stocked home away from home. Both bedrooms had their own en-suite bathroom which was really useful. Everything that we needed was included- plenty of crockery, cutlery, a range of games and books, washer/dryer, towels. We received such a warm welcome which was lovely after a long journey. The only slight negative was that the outdoor table and chairs were on uneven ground which made using them difficult and the garden space was quite small. Having said that, there is a meadow further up from the barn which has a path around the outside and the children could run up there when the weather permitted! Overall we had a fantastic stay and would recommend Raleigh Barn to anyone.
