In the forest
This is an apartment for 2 up a short flight of stairs near Brockenhurst. It is just off the main road and convenient although down a very quiet lane with parking right outside. It is modern, clean and well decorated with a large kitchen/living room. The bed is comfortable and the small shower room has everything you need. There is a pitched roof on both side walls throughout the length of the apartment and so the full height area is restricted. Also there are no views from most of the dormer windows as they are set high on the sloping roof. You can see the treetops however. We did not meet the owners but it looks like they live next door and all the arrangements worked out well. There was a little traffic noise from the road to Brockenhurst so you do not get the "middle of the country" feel. There is what looks like a good pub and restaurant next door although we did not sample it. You are around 1 mile from the Brockenhurst train station and this can be walked along the main road but there are no footpaths to protect you from the heavy traffic. Better to take the bridal path by walking down the lane on the front of the property. This takes you past the St Nicholas' Church and into Brockenhurst. It is about 40 minutes through the forest and we saw deer and a mouse. You can also cycle. Right outside the bedroom seems to be a small cold storage unit with a compressor. It comes on and off during the night and may disturb you if your window is open. Over The Loft is great if you want a base to be in the forest but also within easy reach of Brockenhurst.

Quality place to stay
Had a fantastic weeks stay, the apartment was fresh and clean with everything we needed. Dog friendly and there was no smell of dog presence which was good as sometimes you get this in places. Sat outside on the roof garden and the weather was fab. Place is overlooking the high street the other side with a nice bakery opposite for fresh bread. The wine bar below is an added bonus with a good atmosphere and the staff really friendly on arrival and the food is good too. Pubs and cafes in walking distance for eating out. Would definitely look to rebook, great for a break away.

Cosy and warm
Great location for those without a car - near bus stops, walking distance to the pub and a short walk to lovely farm shop and garden centre which serves a great cream tea. The Loft is well equiped and very cosy and warm - just what we needed as it rained most of the time we were there and it was lovely to come back to a warm space after a day outside. We also hired bikes from cyclexperince based at Brockenhurst station whcih were a great way to see the New Forest.

Perfect pet/walker-friendly loft
I stayed a few days at the loft with my dog and it was perfect, There are lots of wonderful and different walks starting from the loft. It is also a very warm and lovely place to come back to after a long day walking. The owners were very welcoming, helpful and even gave me a lift back to the train station, which I'm very grateful for. I would definitely recommend the loft. Ginie and Baboum

Comfortable New Forest retreat
My partner and I have just returned from a New Forest weekend break. The Loft proved to be perfect accommodation being on the outskirts of Brockenhurst but with all facilities within an easy walk. Even better the local pub was very nearby. The Loft itself is very clean and well equipped and provided a wonderful base from which to explore.

Great base for walking
The loft is a very clean, bright yet cost space to stay. It's location makes it an ideal base for walking and although we didn't take our dog with us, it is dog friendly. We only met Steve as Amanda was away. We were made very welcome and the owners are on site yet we were completely private. All mod cons are included, a wide variety of lighting options and plenty of games and books for leisure time. It does run parallel to a main road and it seems like the owners run a business from the site making it a bit noisy at times but this didn't take away from our enjoyment of the loft or the area. There are a wealth of places to visit nearby and good pubs a plenty. The Filly Inn is a 2 minute walk from the property and is friendly but my personal favourite for atmosphere and value is The Snakecatcher in Brockenhurst. You must give Rosie Leas tea room and the garden centre a visit too. For me, there were just a few things missing that would've given it a full 5 star rating. I missed seeing a clock! There didn't seem to be any oven pans apart from the grill pan and to be honest the oven could do with a clean. Sundries like kitchen roll, foil and cling film would've been handy to have as well as a pint of milk in the fridge. I know it's an awkward space but a small dining area would be nice to have too. Don't get me wrong none this spoiled our trip they are small things that would have enhanced and I would stay again. Thank you Steve and Amanda!

A comfortable, clean place in a lovely location.
Near to a lovely pub and next to a range of lovely walks. The family who run the place were extremely welcoming and helpful. The facilities at the place were great. There were many helpful recommendations of where to go. We couldn't have asked for more.
