5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 6, 2014 for a stay in December 2013

I have stayed at the cottage a number of times and each time I don't want to leave. Aside from the wonderful location which speaks for itself, Jane has thought of absolutely everything, from books and DVDs to those little annoying things you always forget to bring. The house is beautiful, immaculately clean and extremely comfortable.
Everything in the house is of the highest quality with a lovely personal touch.
I cannot recommend this property enough.

Stayed at The Old Custom's house for a 5 day break, wish it had been longer.
Exceptionally well equipped house, in a fantastic location.
Looking forward to going back next year, if not before.

About the neighborhood
The Old Customs House is part of an historic 16th century Grade II listed building and forms part of the building known as 'The Dutch House'. It is thought to have been originally built by Dutch workers who were employed to dredge the harbour and make the river Avon navigable from Christchurch to Salisbury.

It is actually sited on Mudeford Quay itself and 1 of only 7 cottages on the Quay Head. It is still a working Quay with fishing boats venturing out most days so why not say hello to Pete on boat Deja Vu (SU21) and see how his day has been? If you fancy testing your skills out and bringing the catch home yourself pleasure fishing trips are available direct off the quay or we can help you organise in advance. There are also many pleasure trips to be had or i... more
