3 Bedrooms , 1 Bathroom , Sleeps 5
Kinross, Perth and Kinross, Scotland
Balgedie Lodge is beautiful cottage. Bright and cheery in the summer, warm and cosy in the winter and the views are simply spectacular.

There are 3 bedrooms - one's a double, the other a twin and the third is a single - so the Lodge can sleep 5 comfortably although an additional single bed or a cot is available on request.

All the bedding is wonderfully comfy, the linen is luxurious white cotton and the towels are large and fluffy! Think boutique hotel without the price tag - a good night sleep is guaranteed!

There's a pretty, enclosed garden with a sheltered patio, perfecting for sitting in and admiring the view by day or the stars by night. It is all on one level, making it easy for families with young children or the elderly or those with some accessibility concerns.

The kitchen has all you'll need to cook up some wo...

About the neighborhood
Easter Balgedie is a small rural hamlet made up of just a few houses and a couple of farms. There are little lanes to stroll along and a farm track that leads up to the Lomond Hills at the back and another that takes you to Loch Leven at the front.

Although in a rural, tranquil setting, Balgedie House is a perfect base from which to explore the heart of Scotland. There's the Fife villages & beaches & Edinburgh, Perth, St Andrews & Stirling are all close by. Golfers have many top courses to choose from, walkers & cyclists & outdoor sports are well catered for, & there are many arts, culture & historical activities too.

Despite all the area has to offer, you may wish to simply enjoy the House, garden & its views & not go anywhere at all!
Getting around
Edinburgh Airport is only 40 mins drive away and Glasgow is about 1 and 1/2 hours away.

Having a car is a must as the property is in the countryside and is not well served by public transport. It is however very near Kinross and the M90 so access to many of parts of Scotland is very easy.

The nearest local train station is Lochgelly (8miles) and Kirkcaldy station is only about 20 mins away and is on the main line north and south. There is also a park and ride service from Kinross.
Car recommended
How to get there
Airport: Edinburgh: 26.7 mi
Railway: Lochgelly: 6.2 mi
From the South, leave the M90 at junction 6, take the exit through Kinross and travel about 4 miles east on the A911, Kinross to Glenrothes road.

From the North, leave the M90 at junction 7, take the exit through Milnathort, travel about 4 miles southeast on the A911, Milnathort to Glenrothes road.

Driving along the A911, when you've passed Loch Leven's Larder (on your right) and the Balgedie Toll Tavern (on your left), you're getting close! The Gate Lodge is the first cottage on the left after passing the Easter Balgedie sign. You'll hopefully spot the purple chimney pot! Drive in through the stone and black iron gates and park alongside the cottage in the drive.
