The house sleeps four people and is 4 Star Rated by Visit Scotland. Ann Cleeves stayed here whilst doing research before writing the books the acclaimed drama series 'Shetland' are based on.

16 Mounthooly Street is in the historic lanes area of the capital (Lerwick), a quiet location with no passing traffic noise. Free parking is at the rear of the house in Rechabite Place car park. The Tourist Centre is at the bottom of the street where you can book boat trips or coach trips to all areas. Lerwick’s two supermarkets are not far from the house.

It is around 100 yards from the town centre, where you can browse through the shops, pass the time looking at the vessels in our beautiful harbour or take time out to relax in the restaurants and bars.

Lerwick is Shetland's only town, with a population of about 7,500 - although about half of the islands' 22,000 people live within 10 miles of it.

The extensive leisure and entertainment facilities provide warm hospitality to visitors. The old waterfront is thronged with pleasure boats, visiting yachts, historic craft and working fishing boats.
Getting around
