Interaction with guests
Independent home from home but under the same roof as the rest of this very large property. Come and go as you please, as there's a key safe for access to your separate front door. If you need to ask us anything, we're usually available, and we are always happy to talk about the old mill and its history as well as about the wildlife in the extensive riverside garden.

About the neighborhood
Semi-rural on the edge of Lymington and the New Forest National Park. The mill house is set in its own large, idyllic woodland and riverside garden.
Getting around
It is possible to walk to Lymington, but it's mostly road, so a car is unfortunately better. We occasionally see a bus at the bus stop nearby, but the service is infrequent. Guests often walk across the fields opposite us to the little harbour hamlet of Keyhaven and the sea wall path known as the Solent Way, which leads to Lymington and beyond. Lovely views from there across the Solent to the Needles and the Isle of Wight.

How to get there
Airport: Southampton or Bournemouth: 24.9 mi
Railway: Lymington: 2.5 mi
Ferry: Poole: 24.9 mi
From M27 take exit to A337 Lyndhurst (New Forest) then south to Brockenhurst and Lymington. It's about 19 km from the motorway to Lymington. From Lymington drive west on A337 for approx 2.0 km, where you will see the 40 mph sign. Drive down a gentle slope with trees and fields either side, and Efford Mill (SO41 0JD) is on the right-hand side at the bottom of the valley and alongside a large lay-by with a bus stop. Indicate and drive slowly, as some cars don't obey the 40 mph speed limit! Drive into the lay-by and you will see the driveway to the house. Call at the first yellow front door, which will be yours.
Train journey from London Waterloo to Lymington via Brockenhurst: approx 2 hours. Same train from Southampton Airport Parkway.
