A great property, so well equipped with everything you could possibly want. This is our fourth stay, so that shows how good it is. John and Liz are wonderful hosts. Can certainly recommend the local pubs especially the Cross Keys, fabulous meals for a reasonable price and only a stroll away. There are outdoor seating areas which we enjoyed using as the weather was brilliant. Walks from the door eg up Coppet hill to see the bluebells and fantastic views from the top, so worth the climb and a lovely walk back alongside the river. Also the property is a good base to visit Hay on Wye, Ross on Wye, Monmouth, Forest of Dean. A good selection of leaflets with places to visit etc provided and obviously Goodrich Castle is well worth a visit.

Lovely characterful accommodation in a lovely setting.
Great accommodation retaining character of the former coach house and a warm welcome from owners Liz and John. Lovely village with two good pubs for eating out and a great centre for walking and visiting the attractions of the Wye Valley.

Perfect accommodation in a beautiful location
First time stay in the Coach House. We have stayed several times at Granton House when Liz and John ran it as a Bed and Breakfast so we were confident it would be first class.
It certainly is. If you are looking for a relaxing break in this area you will do no better than the Coach House. Great area for walking, fishing and visiting excellent pubs and restaurants.

It was good seeing you both again after several years and I am very pleased you found the coach house just what you were looking for. Sorry I couldn't provide breakfast every day though...those B&B days seem a long time ago!

A wonderful find!
Just what we had hoped for!
Granton Coach House is a beautiful and cosy one bedroom accommodation, equipped with everything you need and well placed to explore all The Wye Valley has to offer. With great countryside walks from the door, in the most peaceful and idyllic village settings, it’s everything you could wish for to escape the stresses of day to day life. The accommodation is very tasteful done to an excellent standard and is pristinely clean. It has a wonderful veranda to sit and enjoy the bird song with a morning coffee and two excellent, welcoming pubs nearby serving great food.
This was our first trip to The Wye Valley and the hospitality of our hosts and the local people could not have been more welcoming. We truly had a most enjoyable break and hope to return in the not too distant future.
PS - We would highly recommend booking the canoeing from Ross on Wye to Symonds Yat. Great fun and the wildlife spotting is a joy.

Fabulous Accommodation in Goodrich on the Wye
We stayed at Liz and John's Coach house which is just a gorgeous property to stay in, excellently designed and extremely well equipped. We arrived to a nice welcome pack and fresh eggs from the local farm.
The accommodation is fabulous, Liz and John made us feel very welcome and the location of the Coach house is a fantastic location to explore the Wye Valley.
We enjoyed exploring Goodrich village, walking the Wye Valley Way, kayaking on the river, segwaying and walking in the Forest of Dean and wild swimming the Wye.
Wonderful holiday!

Excellent Coach House in a peaceful location
The Coach House in Goodrich is an excellent property, very comfortable and it has everything you could possibly need for your stay. Various seating areas outside to relax in after our walks, so peaceful. The history of the property was very interesting & the renovation was done to a high standard. The owners are friendly and helpful. We enjoyed lovely meals at the two local pubs (The Cross Keys & the Hostelrie) within walking distance. Goodrich Castle is worth a visit and there are numerous walks in the area, including around Symonds Yat, Newant and along by the River Wye. We loved it and hope to return. Thank you Liz and John, from Liz and Geoff

Happy returns!
We were delighted and excited to return after 10 years. Liz and John were very flexible and accomodating with our booking which we appreciated.
We stayed 10 nights which allowed us to revisit places we remembered fondly from our previous stay and to find new places and even go over into Wales. There is so much to see and do within a very reasonable distance.
The coach house is very comfortable and well appointed and is set in the beautiful grounds of Liz and John's home.
We can't recomend this highly enough and we will not leave another 10 years for our return.
If you like walking the area is amazing with every level catered for. The whole area is beautiful in every direction with nature all around.

Lovely place to stay in a great location
We loved our stay at the coach house - it's a beautiful property and was really comfortable and well-furnished. The location is great for seeing the area around Goodrich - the castle and local pubs are walkable, and Symonds Yat is walkable or a short drive too. Liz and John were very friendly and helpful. Would really recommend!

Nice to be back
My wife and I stayed twice back in 2014 and really enjoyed it so we decided to come back once more for our wedding anniversary and really enjoyed it once again.
The accommodation is as still well kept as ever despite not changing much, it has a great bedroom with comfy big bed like we have at home, and a decent bathroom, and the living area is done out really nice too.
The location itself is great for exploring Symonds Yat and local area, you can do walks direct from the house, but as the weather was somewhat iffy we drove and parked nearer to Symonds Yat. The local pubs in the Village are great as is the Crown in Whitchurch just down the road..
The owners are great and very helpful with advise or helping with any needs.

Great Stay (even in the rain)
Had a great week in Granton Coach House visiting the area for the first time in more than twenty years. Hereford , Chepstow and Hay-on-Wye all within easy distance. Goodrich , with its own castle within walking distance , is a lovely quiet village. The Coach House was of a very high standard, was warm and very comfortable. Would recommend it for anyone wishing for a quiet and relaxing stay.

Herefordshire is noted for its locally produced food being mainly an agricultural region. There are too many restaurants to mention but one thing is certain...you won't go away hungry! Food Festivals are held each year in Hereford, the Forest of Dean and Ludlow which is just over the border into Shropshire and of course Abergavenny that visitors flock to.
Hay on Wye is approximately an hours drive away. The Literary Festival is held in June every year and many well known authors, politicians and celebrity chefs attend.
Getting around
The best way to see the area is by car as the bus service is minimal. However past guests have enjoyed taking a leisurely bus trip to Hereford or Gloucester via the villages. Some have bought their own bikes to explore the area.
