I can thoroughly recommend these cottages as a destination.
The properties are smallish as you would expect from the style and they are not pretending to be trendy or very chic but ours was spotless and everything was immaculate. It was also an incredibly usable living space and extremely well equipped right down to the cooking utensils, the corkscrew and the hairdryer. Our cottage also had a dish washer and tablets to use in it! We were also offered a highchair and travel-cot.
While people park their cars to the side of the gravel courtyard, for unloading it was great to be able to pull up within two feet of the front door and have total step-free access. I also noticed that one of the cottages seemed to be particularly set up for wheelchair access with extra hard-standing.
The property was farther from Ashford than I expected (not having bothered to look up the exact location) being around ten minutes drive through tiny country lanes, but the setting was really lovely...
