Great place to stay and for working away from home
Good location with easy access to centre of Buxton. Good Wi-fi and the study room makes an ideal office for working away from home and relaxing with a book. Nice welcome basket. Nice friendly owners.

Comfy and centrally located
The cottage was really centrally located but down a quiet side street so whilst, you're only a few minutes walk away from the centre of Buxton it still felt very peaceful and removed from any hustle and bustle. Pete, the owner, couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful with plenty of useful communication both prior to and on arrival. The cottage is well equipped and very clean and comfortable. Parking may be interesting if you have a big vehicle as it can get quite full up down the street but in fairness we always managed to get parked and never too far away from the cottage. Would highly recommend The Servants Quarters to anyone wanting a comfy, central bolt hole in Buxton. We didn't get chance to explore half of what we'd like to have done so may yet be back!

Tip-top accommodation.
We had a lovely stay in The Servants' Quarters. A characterful house in a quiet street, yet close to the centre. Very well appointed, comfortable beds, good showers and extremely organised and communicative hosts. Free on street parking was an added bonus.

Another wonderful stay, our fifth.
This was our fifth stay at The Servants Quarters, so that should tell you a thing or two. Pete and Catherine continue to provide top notch service; providing clean and comfortable accommodations and checking in to make sure we had everything we needed when the weather took a turn. We look forward to catching up again on our sixth stay.

Awesome place!
Another lovely stay at the Servants Quarters. The house is so well set up - love the 3 floors, smart TV and fully equipped kitchen. Such a relaxing stay and love fact you can walk into Buxton town within a few mins. And Pete is a brilliant host - nothing is too much trouble! Thank you

Very good location
What a pleasure it was to stay at the Servants' Quarters in Buxton and is very close to all amenities. The attention to detail and the cleanliness were outstanding, and the use of natural cleaning products was also welcomed. A lovely welcome package on arrival made us feel very spoilt. A visit from Pete was also very welcome and he offered a lot of information about Buxton and the surrounding area. Would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone who is thinking of staying in the Peaks / Buxton area.

A fantastic stay in the Servants Quarters
Just came back from a family holiday at Servants' Quarter in October. This is our second time staying in the cottage, we had a great time both times. The property is located conviently, you have lots of local walks/resturants/bars/pubs within walking distance. Sainsburys just around the corner. Plenty of attractions nearby within 30 mins of driving distance. There is no desinated parking for the property, but we always managed to find a parking space close by. The accomendation is spotless clean, very warm and confertable, has everything you need and more, a truely home from home experience. Welcome pack was very generous, consist of a small milk, eggs, tea cakes, choclate, homemade bread and a bottle of white or red wine. There is tea/coffee at the property, even a coffee machine with beans provided. The place has certainly exceeded our expectations, can not fault it in any single way. The communication from Pete were amazing. He was very informative, his local knowledge is amazing, suggested a few places to eat/drink/walk, and they are all very good. The weather wasn't the best when we were there, but there are plenty of wet weather activities to do in the area too, for example, a bit of shopping/Poole's caven which is just 10 mins drive, a very good bookshop just outside of Buxton....the list can go on. And the cottage is well equipped for films/games/books for a cosy day in too. Overall, a very pleasant stay and we will certainly return. Thank you Pete and Caroline for providing such a wonderful accomendation, we had a fantastic time and will certainly return.

Best accommodation of our whole trip
On this holiday we’ve travelled from Cornwall to Shetland and we have no hesitation in saying that the Servants’ Quarters is the best accommodation of our whole trip! We really appreciate the help and kindness both before and during our time here and the friends who joined us were very much impressed too. A cosy and comfortable home from home. We’ll definitely recommend The Servants’ Quarters and would like to say a big thank you to Pete and Catherine.

GREAT ACCOMMODATION
Brilliant location. On-street parking. Left the car for 5 nights and walked everywhere! Characterful, quiet self-catering accommodation with fascinating history. Warm and snug - essential considering the roads had only just reopened after Buxton had been cut off by blizzards and there was still plenty of snow about. Checked in using keybox. Family dropped by later to ensure all was okay, and we felt welcome to contact them if needed. Super box of goodies on arrival. Love the eco-friendly approach to everything from munchies to cleaning materials. Recycling gets my vote. Accommodation over 3 floors. One is below street level with steep stairs; property unsuitable for those with mobility issues. Well-appointed kitchen with dining table and every appliance you could need. Sitting room with TV & iPlayer, DVDs and supply of books. Bathroom with large separate shower on the middle floor is great for dripping brollies and soaking waterproofs. Bedrooms very comfortable with plenty of space. My friend and I really enjoyed our stay, and strongly recommend The Servants Quarters.

About the neighborhood
The historic market town of Buxton nestles in the Derbyshire hills and at a height of 1,000 feet above sea level it is one of England's highest towns. It has a long history as a spa town due to its geothermal spring which rises at a constant temperature of 28 °C. It was initially developed by the Romans around AD 78, when the settlement was known as Aquae Arnemetiae, or the spa of the goddess of the grove. Buxton has some lovely buildings - notably John Carr's Georgian Crescent and the Opera House, designed by Frank Matcham (architect of many of London's finest theatres). It also has a thriving music and arts festival each summer. The town is easily navigated by foot (if you can cope with the odd hill) and benefits from a direct train service into Manchester. The town is also well served by buses to Derby, Nottingham, Sheffield, Manchester and the surrounding National Park.
Getting around
The Servants' Quarters is located right in the centre of Buxton, just a road away from the picturesque Pavilion Gardens and Opera House. You can easily walk to the majority of the attractions, shops and restaurants Buxton has to offer. The house is 10-15 minutes walk from Buxton Railway Station which has direct trains into Manchester Piccadilly Station. Buxton Market Place is 2 minutes walk away - from here there are a wide range of bus services to the local towns, Sheffield, Manchester and (direct) to Manchester Airport.

The No. 58 bus takes you over the hills into Buxton on the Cat and Fiddle road - one of the most stunning routes in the area.
