We live in Cyprus and have stayed at this property at least five times over the past six years, but always in the yurts. This time we booked the Kaliba, which is a wooden cabin that sits on the highest point of the hill. Once again, the experience exceeded our expectations. I only have the highest recommendation for anyone who wants to get away from it all and experience nature at its most pristine.
One of the things I've noticed before, which was even more pronounced during this visit, is the incredible attention to detail. Everything on the site is built and furnished with a delicate balance of functionality, sustainability, and artistic expression. It all has a rustic feel, yet there is nothing plain about the buildings or furnishings. Every item from the table lamps to the beautifully constructed wooden decks is unique, yet it all fits together in a cohesive style that I would call New Age Rustic.
All this is the vision of a single human being—the owner, Pawel. He is truly a phenomenon. He constructed the entire complex with his own hands, the way an oil painter creates a masterpiece.
When you're sitting there in the comfort of the main house, enjoying the delicious and healthy breakfast you’re served, flanked by a cozy living room with all the modern conveniences (Wifi, laptop computers, etc.) it's rather mind-blowing to realize that the entire property is completely off the grid and generates all its own electricity.
My words don’t even come close to describing its uniqueness—it’s the kind of thing that has to be experienced.
If you’re having any doubts, go ahead and take the risk.
