About the neighborhood
Flaujagues is a quiet village occupying an idyllic riverside location. The commune is also home to a wine cooperative where the produce from local vineyards can be sampled and purchased and the port can be used for launching boats or canoes that can be hired from nearby Pessac, with one-way pick up available. Not to be missed are the village Bastille Day celebrations when people come from miles around for the amazing firework display from the banks of the Dordogne… without doubt the best view of the occasion is from your own terrace. Flaujagues also holds a popular annual brocante, regular night markets and a number of summer dinner dance events in the square. Castillon La Bataille is 10 minutes away and famous for its summer re-enactments of the end of the Hundred Years War, an elab...
How to get there
Please click 'Satellite' button on map for aerial view of village and house. By air... Flaujagues is well served by two international airports, Bordeaux and Bergerac, and is situated half way between the two. Heading through the city to Bordeaux airport takes about an hour by car and the more rural route to Bergerac is a 45-minute journey. Cars can be hired easily from either and budget airlines Easyjet, Ryanair, flybe and bmibaby dominate the flights. By road... For those who prefer to drive, Flaujagues is a relatively simple journey from Calais, of approximiately ten hours driving time, which obviously can be pleasantly split up by stopping at any of the beautiful French cities and regions en route. Alternatively a ferry in to St Malo brings you nearer to your destination to the extent...
