Well spend holiday
Holiday well spent. Amazing experience if you are going in a group. Big space for everyone. Enough toilet shower facilities. Even it rains you will fine somethings to do inside. Well equipped kitchen so you don't have to take anything with you . Our Kids loved it there are so many games to play and run around. All the pods have attached toilet and shower, which we didn't expect so it was a bonus . Book the hot tub as well it will be icing on the cake. Derek was really helpful. Very nice host. We will definitely go back.

Large party barn with accommodation, but damp
I have mixed thoughts about out week’s stay at Lan Barton Leisure Barn. The barn is large with plenty of room to party, play pool (two tables), badminton and room to have a kick around (in additional there are loads of scooters to help get around this large building!). However, this is a barn and not fully weather sealed – in heavy rain the floor got wet and the place quite damp. Outside there is parking for at least four cars. The sleeping pods are on raised platforms with some heating, so this protects them from the damp. Whilst each pod can take 4 people there is only really room for 3 plus luggage. Each pod has its own shower and toilet, then there are two toilets additional toilets. Showers were just useable, but due to the damp could not get towels dried afterwards. Toilets flushes pathetic (even for number 1’s you must flush more than once). Ample sized kitchen and a nice lounge area (with TV), but we needed to put on the heaters to remove the damp. We tried to use the washing machines, but one of them just blew a fuse, the other one was useable, but could do with a tumble dryer as was too damp for clothes to fully dry afterwards. Could not get the film projector to work. Fire escape door would not open. Overall, the place could do with a refurbishment. The barn is on a farm with a working barn attached (just the other side of the wall from the sleeping pods). We were woken early one morning with the noise of a cow being AI’d – the farmer had warned us in advance, but by the amount of noise not too sure the cow enjoyed the experience.

Very disappointing!
My family and I stayed here only a year ago, we returned again in Aug 2023. It was disappointing to have had such a dire weekend compared to last year. We paid an extra £120 for the hot tub for the weekend. This had apparently been chlorinated prior to our arrival. Being that there were many of us using the hot tub, due to the weather, it should have been treated more than the once during our stay. We checked the filter which had clearly not been cleaned or changed for quite some time due to the state of it. By the end of the weekend the water was as murky as sea water and had a foul smell. Many of the party who used the hot tub suffered with skin rashes due to the poorly maintained water! We were also told that the tv remote had been lost so during our stay we had no access to the tv which would have been helpful to entertain the children during the wet weekend. Everything stayed wet and damp, we were drying with wet towels every day. The showers in the pods were terrible giving nothing but a trickle so meant there was 15 of us trying to use the 3 showered upstairs! The sofas were damp. When you sat on them you would feel your clothes were wet when you got up, which didn’t make it a comfortable environment at all! Was so disappointing to have had such an awful experience this time around! I know the weather can’t be helped but so disappointed in the facilities, particularly the hot tub, given the extra £120 we paid to have it on! Unfortunately we didn’t think to take any photos so do not have any images of the lack of cleanliness of the property.

Excellent!
This was our second time staying here once for my honeymoon in Derek & his wife’s beautiful cottage, and our second time for my mothers 6Oth birthday back in January in their lush pods . I’ve finally managed to write a quick review. Absolutely stunning location suburb facilities and without no dealt we would all stay again. A huge thank you! I Highly recommend!

Beautiful cottages, too!
We just returned after a wonderfully relaxing couple of days at a Lane Barton cottage. Yes, they have beautiful cottages for rent. What an amazing experience! The cottage is extremely well equipped and the hosts, Derek and Angie, are the most gracious and welcoming people that I’ve met. We didn’t know what to visit in the area, so they pointed out all the highlights and we had one of the best vacations ever - great recommendations for restaurants and local sites. I will definitely return for a longer stay.

New Year at the barn
A group of 30 of us stayed adults and children, we had the best time! The barn is well equipped it has everything you need. The children loved the space and enjoyed every minute they kept themselves entertained. We played games, sang karaoke until early hours and got in the hot tub. Derek is very welcoming and will help with anything. As a big group we had a Asda delivery to the barn. The pods are lovely and warm. We had a excellent new year! This was our 2nd visit and will definitely book again.

Perfect, Peaceful location
I was one of a group of 12 adults with one 9 month old and stayed for 3 nights. Totally enjoyed the experience. The place had everything we needed. The kitchen was very well equipped, the pods were very comfortable. The space inside the shed was impressive, played a few games of badminton and table tennis in the evenings. We were free to make the place our own for the few days we were there. Derek was a font of knowledge and recommended a number of places to visit. Would strongly recommend this place.

Great place for the money
Just got back from a cracking weekend at the Leisure Barn and can’t wait to return. Derek was really helpful all throughout the build up and was available on site whenever we needed him during our stay Our party included 6 families and it was ideal. There was plenty to keep the kids busy and off electronics for 48 hours which made it very easy for parents to relax Derek let me borrow his lawn mower to cut a football pitch into the top field. There’s a bbq and big table outside the barn which was a nice sun trap during the day and we lit a fire pit there during the evening, there’s loads of room inside for everything else The pods are a lot bigger than they look so comfortably fit a family of 4. A few of the electrical bits were a bit temperamental so worth bringing a Bluetooth speaker with you...Or it’s a great excuse to drag out a few old CD’s down from the loft Activities included table tennis, football, rugby, badminton, squash, head tennis, hot tub, frisbee, bowls, darts, pool, golf It’s really well equipped, perhaps a little rough around the edges in places? But this only adds to its charm. And to get all this for under £200 per family for the weekend is amazing value for money. I wholeheartedly recommend the place and will look to book again next year

Great place for large get together
Due to extreme heavy rainfall unfortunately we had a few puddles in the main barn, however Derek spent all day with a powerful water extractor getting it all dry in no time. The host Derek was extremely helpful but did not interfere with our stay he provided Halloween decorations for the children. The barn is fully equipped and the children were safe to play in a large space and the lounge was great as a games room and movie room. Will definitely visit again and recommend.

How to get there
Best practice is to travel into Woolsery village before letting the Saty Nav take over completely!! Otherwise the journey to Lane Barton will be via very narrow country lanes. The Sat Nav will get you to the bottom of the farm lane. Drive up the lane to the Blue Council sign saying "unsuitable for motor vehicles" Congratulations you've arrived!!
