This is an ideal villa for chilling out, private partying and/or family gathering, while the “action” of ''Platanes'' resort village is available for those who desire more action. The beaches, the restaurants, and the nearest supermarkets, are all less than a five minute drive away. Villa Laga is located on the road from Rethymnon (almost 15km away) to the historic monastery of Arkadi before Kyrianna village surrounded by 4 acres of olive trees, just 3.5 km from the sea. On the outside you can find a pool and a children's pool, with its spacious pool deck and sun beds. Moreover a BBQ area can be found next to the pool for some Cretan specialities. It has its own electric locking gate, fenced-in garden and 2 enclosed garage parking places with a few more parking places just outside. The villa has 3 floors where the first and second floor is identical in size and room giving you privacy and individuality since they both have a main entrance door. Both with fully equipped kitchen, living room, bedrooms, bathrooms and with panoramic views of the ocean and landscape. Stepping into the villa from the first floor, one finds himself in the living/lounge area, with its comfortable sofas, Flat screen TV, WIFI, etc. Continuing on, one enters to the kitchen/dining area. The fully fitted kitchen is well equipped with oven, hob, fridge, microwave, etc. On the same floor there is 2 bedrooms, one with double bed and the other one with 2 twin beds. All of them have their own bathroom, TV, air-condition, reading lamps, massive wardrobes and last but not least. All 4 bedrooms in both floors have their own private balcony! On the ground floor there is the last bedroom with 2 twin beds, a small kitchen, living room and a WC. The keynote of this modern villa is its privacy. Floors Layout. Perfect Villa, Perfect Views, Perfect Hospitality
We stayed here with our family in September 2018. There was 9 of us in total, 7 adults and 2 children. The villa host is Menios. From the moment we booked the villa Menios was extremely welcoming and helpful. He kept in touch with us after we landed in Crete, ensuring that we successfully found our way to the villa. Menios and Nikos (the villa owner) met us at the villa once we had arrived. They provided us with cold water and a delicious Greek salad alongside some of the famous Greek spirit, Raki. They also provided us with bottled water and some basic foods in the fridge. Menios walked me around the villa explaining where everything was, how the appliances worked and other fundamentals. He also walked me through the local map and provided us with a number of recommendations for things to do with the family. Menios stayed in touch with us throughout our stay ensuring that we had everything that we needed. The villa is huge. It’s essentially three connected apartments which is great for large groups who want to enjoy a holiday together whilst also having some privacy. The villa is located amongst the beautiful hills of Kirianna and is completely secluded – it was bliss!! The villa was very clean upon arrival. Nikos came over at 10am every day to clean the pool and wash down the floors outside. Housekeeping cleaned the villa and changed all of the bedding every five days. The pool is massive and had a separate, shallow section for small kids. It was kept clean through our stay. The BBQ and outside dining area is perfect for large families who want to eat together, and again, kept very clean. There are a lot of millipedes around the area that come out at night. They didn’t cause an issue until we had a couple of rainy days, after which they came out in force – they were everywhere. In and around the villa. Nikos washed them away every day and cleared them out of the pool but they would keep coming. They didn’t disrupt our stay at all so we didn’t raise it with Nikos or Menios. We go away every two years with our family and we’ve stayed in some lovely villas, but this is by far the best one. Views. Cleanliness. Hospitality. Secluded. Spacious. If you’re considering booking this villa I can tell you that you won’t be disappointed.

Perfection in the hills
'Villa Laga' did not disapppoint. We booked to stay for a week at the start of September, as a group of 11 friends wanting to experience some Cretan culture and fun. The first half of our group arrived first, welcomed by the owner, who had laid out a fresh platter of salad and fruit, and the famous homemade Raki. The drive for us was around 1hr 20 mins from Heraklion airport- better to drive in the daylight so you can see some of the amazing views! The villa was perfect for what we wanted from a big friends holiday. Absolute privacy meant we could make all the noise we liked without worrying about upsetting neighbours, and there was so much space for us all to live very comfortably in. In fact, some sofas and tables were left completely unused! The outside area is where the magic happened. With a shaded barbeque and eating area, it meant we could enjoy every meal outside, next to the barbeque and facing the stunning landscape around us. We were instructed to help ourselves to the fresh tomatoes and peppers that grew in the grounds, which was such a treat! I'd definitely recommend this villa to others who want to make the most of a stunning property in a quiet part of Crete. The nearest beach is around a 10 minute drive, too. And the cats (we named Feta and Pitta) are lovely creatures :)

5* Villa in an Idilic Location
We stayed in early September with a large group of friends. We found the villa to be of a very high standard in a beautiful spot, nestled in the hills above Rythymnon. From the second we arrived, we we very impressed with the overall condition of the villa. We learned that the owner had previously been an electrician who worked on large hotel builds, this was apparent with the quality of the electrical fittings, bedrooms and bathrooms being comparable with a high standard hotel room. The Location of the Villa is beautiful. It is extremely quiet and peaceful and there are no other properties close by. The grounds and gardens are maintained to a very high standard, with lines of olive trees extending as far as the eye can see. there are also a number of tomato, cucumber and pepper plants, from  which you can gather the most beautiful fresh produce for your lunch or dinner. The living space is vast. With large well furnished living rooms and beautiful bedrooms, each with their own bathrooms and private balcony’s. The whole property is fully air-conditioned, with powerful modern ac units. The real highlight for most of us was the outstanding outdoor area, which consists of a large, clean swimming pool, lots of comfortable sunbeds and a phenomenal covered eating and BBQ area. It was here that we spent the majority of our days. The BBQ is very large and there is also a wood burning oven for making bread and pizzas. Another highlight was the large amount of food preparation area, great lighting and even an outdoor fridge. Although there is a very good local restaurant about 10 minutes walk away, you really need a car to enjoy the best of the island. There are a few shops and a bakery very close by, but there is a Lidl around 10 mins drive away, as well as a number of larger supermarkets within a short drive. The Villa is well prepared for a large number of vehicles, with lots of space on the drive as well as a double garage with an electric door at the base of the property. We were given a detailed email prior to arriving that contained lots of information on local shops, bars and restaurants. As well as some very comprehensive photographed directions that we found very helpful. We had no problems at all whilst we were there, but we had a strong feeling that if there was something to go wrong, the owner would be very helpful in remedying any issues. Overall our stay was a fantastic experience, there really is very little to fault with Villa Laga and i would not think twice about returning there or recommending it to any of my family or friends.

Excellent stay!
My husband booked Villa Laga for us and four other friends. When we arrived we had such a warm welcome from the owner Manos who was incredibly kind and had prepared bread and cheese and other snacks for us. The villa was even better than we had imagined! It was huge, every floor was perfectly catered for and the rooms all had private balconies. The pool was a good size, and the views from each balcony were so beautiful. The rooftop had amazing 360 degree views of pristine countryside. There were acres of land to explore, with olive trees and sheep hiding in the hills and you could just about see the sea from the rooftop. We enjoyed using the bbq and the property felt very safe with electric gates for security. Manos came every day to water the plants and even cooked us a delicious meal! We would all love to go back to Villa Laga!

Villa très spacieuse, dans un magnifique environnement
La maison est conforme au descriptif, très spacieuse même pour un groupe de 12 personnes. Elle est dans un environnement très calme (aucun voisin) au milieu de champs d'oliviers, avec pour seul bruit les cigales !! À l'arrivée, un frigo garni et de l'huile d'olives à disposition (stock renouvelé au cours du séjour par le propriétaire). Piscine entretenue plusieurs fois par jour par le propriétaire, très (trop ?) présent. Ménage non réalisé au terme d'une semaine, alors même que cela était prévu dans le contrat (séjour de 15 jours) toutefois de nombreux draps et serviettes à disposition (plusieurs machines à laver également). Dans l'ensemble, location très plaisante.

Wonderful Villa
Fantastic villa with great views. The photo's don't do it justice. 8 of us stayed in the villa and arrived to find the fridge full of food, salad stuff, ham, cheese, milk, jam, bread and fruit. We were late arriving due to problems collecting our hire car but the owner, and a friend who interpreted for him, showed my parents around the villa and waited for us to arrive. They were concerned that the villa was alright for us, it couldn't have been any better. The pool was soon in use by the younger members of our group. If we go to Crete again as a group we wouldn't hesitate to stay at villa Laga.

An amazing vacation!
The vacation was fantastic. The house is big! more beautiful than on the picture! Its private so you don't have neighbours. but still the shops and going out places are nearby! The owner of the house is a verry nice man! You can do trips and taking the culture in. Nearby is alsow a touristshop, They give you verry good information! Best you can do is rent a car for doing youre shopping. alsow if you go see something is it cheaper when you drive youreself than when you go with touristbus or train. I enjoyed it verry much!

amazing
The country, the location, the house itself, everything was great and beautiful. The house is very big and the rooms very confortable. You see the house on the picture ? The same in real life or better I didn't decide yet. The view is amazing in the morning thanks to the sunset. The pool ins't deep (1'65m) but nice ( ten people get in easly ). Conclusion ? Good trip

Perfect
When we arrived at the villa it was a surprise for everyone. It was better than the photo that you can see on internet. We were a group of friends, the villa is eccentric so it's perfect. Rethymno is approximatively at 15 minutes, even less, of the villa. We passed a great stay. Thanks to Manos.

Had a great stay!
I had a great vacation in this house with my 4 teenagers. Beautiful area, very peaceful. Very nice pool-area, with well working barbecue and outdoor kitchen. The house was clean and nice and everything worked really well. There was a very good taverna in the neighbourhood, and a cool butchers shop i Kyrianna. It took about 15 minutes to drive do Heraklion. A car is nescesary to stay in the house. Friendly owner! :-)
