Knossos Estate Villa is a wonderful private villa with 7 spacious bedrooms. Sunset-sunrise and panoramic view towards the Mediterranean Sea, the nearby gorge, the town of Rethymnon and the medieval Venetian Castle. Absolutely Fabulous
I booked this villa a year before coming , all adults for a big birthday celebration.
I couldn’t have asked for more , stunning well equipped villa , large grounds and pool with stunning views .
Lina was great , keeping in touch before and during our stay , she cooked a delicious home made meal for us all one evening , we had a bbq , Indian from Saffron delivered after our sunset cruise and had some super meals in the old town . Breakfast came each morning and usually enough to add to our lunch buffet, topped up from Lidl
Couldn’t fault a thing , highly recommend

Lovely stay for our birthday celebrations
We had a wonderful stay at Villa Ariadne in July celebrating our milestone birthdays.
For the 12 months leading up to our arrival Lina was incredibly attentive, answering any questions we had and making arrangements on our behalf including airport transfers. She’s responsive, knowledgeable and super friendly.
The Villa was fantastic for our celebrations. We were three families of 12 in total. Children between 4-12 and there was something for everyone.
We spent the majority of our time in the wonderful pool. I think the Villa would do well to have the pool fenced off for little ones and it would have been useful if there were plastic plates cups and bowls for the children 😊
There’s a lovely little bakery / patisserie / restaurant a couple of minutes walk from the Villa called Bikakis. Really reasonably priced with nice cocktails and views too.
Lina cooked us a lovely meal on the first night we arrived which we pre ordered & really helped us out after a long day travelling. She also went shopping on our behalf to ensure we had essentials that we wanted for our arrival.
Breakfast is included every morning and the kids loved the waffles. Anything not eaten at breakfast can be covered up and used for lunch etc.
Taxis into Rethymno were circa 15 euros per taxi of 4. Slightly discounted for a minibus for 12. We did occasionally get taxis for a few euros less. The roads are too dangerous to walk into Rethymno. There is a Lidl shop several minutes drive from the Villa.
Lina arranged a boat trip for us, taxis and was available for our entire stay and quick to respond to our messages.
We had a lovely relaxing stay at Villa Ariadne! Thank you ☺️

Our best billa holiday ever
This was probably the best Villa we have ever stayed in with all the family. We were a family of 16,10 adults, 4 young children and 2 adults babies. Lina, who looks after the villa was amazing and so attentive to all our needs. We had two beautiful meals cooked by her on our first and last night, lots of choice from the menu she sent you and plenty of food, all delicious. Everywhere was spotless and the pool was amazing alongside the private Park. The villa is 10 minutes drive away from the beautiful town of Rethymno. Lots of lovely beaches nearby if you can drag yourself away from the villa. We can’t wait to return. The children were in tears when we left this morning thank you Lina and Nico.

Excellent Villa and property perfect for large family’s
This is an amazing villa perfect for large families. The villa has everything that is needed for a perfect holiday. Lina is an amazing host and is so helpful. The communication is fantastic to make your holiday perfect. Breakfast is included and is a perfect way to start each day with plenty of fresh food juice milk bread each day. We chose a meal which Lina cooked for us and the table setting and food was amazing we were given a menu with plenty of choices and we picked 3 dishes which were freshly cooked and amazing. I couldn’t recommend this villa enough. As we were a large family we found a taxi firm which took us into the town for restaurants shopping drinks and this was 5 euros return per person as we booked a 12 seater to accommodate our family but a 4 seater taxi is 10 euro into town which is a good price. There is also a Lidl about 5 mins drive away. I love this villa and hopefully will return soon.

We loved our stay at Villa Ariadni at Knossos Estate; the villas are very well equipped, and the outdoor space is brilliant.
Lina was very helpful, anything you needed was never too much trouble. The villas are a 5-10 min taxi ride from Rethymno, Lina can arrange a taxi for you very quickly. I would also recommend the Greek Night feast the villa can provide at request, the food was amazing. Breakfast served promptly daily was very tasty too! Definitely would recommend the Villas for a Cretan holiday!

Perfect for the extended family
This is our second time at the Knossos Estates. It is the perfect living for three generations. The villa is surrounded by a wall/fence ensuring that the kids are safe. The garden has a little playground and table tennis - enough to keep the kids busy . The pool is nice and tidy and big enough for all. The only improvement we can wish for would be that the pool was surrounded by a fence to keep the kids safe.
It was nice to get breakfast served. The fresh fruit was appreciated but we missed vegetables. It was delivered at 9 in the morning and that was a little late when you have small kids. Not much flexibility was offered regarding time.
Most bathrooms upstairs are very small. Only one en-suite. The aircondition is very difficult to maneuver and we couldn´t find any guide to it. It only works when the bedroom door is closed and has a switch behind the door that needs to be put back after each opening.
In Crete you throw the toiletpaper in a bin beside the toilet. We would have liked those bins to have been emptied daily. This wasn´t done during the whole week. It would also have been appreciated to get the trash bin in the kitchen emptied daily. We experienced some confusion about how to sort the trash outside. A manual for that plus more trashbags would also have been appreciated.
On the plus-side - all the staff arevery friendly. Lina was very helpful when we lost a car key and contacted the car rental firm to help get a spare key. The breakfast ladies were very sweet.

Amazing villa & views
We have just returned from our 10 night holiday at Villa Ariadni and I cannot recommend this villa enough. We were a group of 9 adults and 4 children and the villa was plenty big enough for us all. There were 3 bedrooms on the ground floor and 4 upstairs and there were enough bathrooms for us to have one each. Towels were swapped twice during our stay, this included the pool towels too. The aircon was great, very much needed in august and yes it did turn off if both doors weren't closed but I’ve seen this in plenty of places, it’s just so it’s only in use while your actually in the room. There were shutters on the outside of the windows that you could put down which totally blacked out the room at night so we had no issues sleeping. The grounds are immaculate, the pool is huge and the view is spectacular. The host Lina is amazing, she could not do enough for us, she messaged every day asking if we were ok or needed anything and popped in from time to time. She gave us some great recommendations for restaurants down in the town and helped us when we needed to book taxis. She also cooked us an amazing meal one night (pictures attached), the food was exceptional, we had feta, tzatziki, bruschetta, lamb, pasta and her husband made the chocolate cake pudding which was unbelievable. We also had breakfast delivered every morning which was a lovely touch. We made use of the BBQ and cooked a few meals in and the kitchen was easy to use. The cafe/restaurant (Bikaki’s) down the road is gorgeous too, definitely worth a try, we did not have one bad meal & it’s so cheap!
We have all had the best holiday and if we were to return to Crete we would not hesitate to come back to stay here.

Holiday to Remember (except the Villa Ariadni)
Hi,
The breakfast was served by 9 am.Same food daily was served.
The air conditioning is very bad in all the rooms.Have never seen such weird air condition switch ever.It’s attached with the main door.If you open the door it gets switched off unless you slam it back again.Mind you we were there in July.😄
There are no blackouts in the windows.In the afternoon you cannot take a peaceful sleep as the glaring sun will definitely hit your eyes.
The rooms are cleaned only once a weekThe rooms are pretty tiny & the beds are narrow & tiny too.
The dishes have to be done by ourselves.
We were there for a holiday and it’s expected that the dishes and bathrooms should be cleaned daily.
The connectivity to the centre is only possible if you hire a car.
For 6 days in INR it’s around 55k.
Why should I book this place and not a hotel ?
In a hotel I will get all such facilities.
The lady Leena is absolutely unfriendly and unapproachable.
Avoid eating there.They will fleece you.The standard of food is very sad, the price they charge.(28 💶/head).It was only on the first day the food was ordered.
The airport pick up & drop or to hire a car there should be done by yourself .
The place charges everything at a much higher price.
Stay at your own risk.

Fantastiques vacances familiales
Nous avons séjourné à la villa ARIADNI , du 13 au 20 mai . Nous avons trouvé la maison et son jardin conforme aux photos , ainsi que la très belle piscine . Meme en mieux !!! Propreté impeccable , jardin et piscine parfaitement entretenus. Nous avons été accueilli par Lina sympathiquement et qui a été aux petits soins durant tout le séjour . Elle nous a préparé avec son mari , deux repas copieux , nous nous sommes régalés . Le petit déjeuner copieux et varié est servi par une autre dame également serviable et sympathique . Merci à toute l'équipe d'accueil et au propriétaire , pour ces merveilleuses vacances en CRETE.
