Ideally located in the area of Plaka with an amazing view over the Acropolis, maybe the best someone can have in Athens. The apartment was purchased in 2017 and it was fully renovated and redesigned from scratch.
It is fully furnished, modern decorated and fully equipped. The views from the apartment are spectacular during the day and especially at night when starring at the enlighten Parthenon.
There are 2 bedrooms with queen size double beds and 2 bathrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, fridge with freezer, dishwasher. Cutlery, dishes and pans, kettle, espresso coffee maker, toaster and a filter coffee machine. You will enjoy having your complimentary coffee during your stay.
Of course the beds are already made-up, with fresh ironed sheets from top quality brand. Furthermore ...

Great View - BUT Certainly Not Luxury!
The view is amazing, particularly at night and the location is excellent, within walking distance of all the major sights and close to the metro.
However, our stay was less impressive. Before booking, due to our late departure on the last day, I enquired if it was possible to store our luggage after the checkout time. George assured me it was not a problem, of course he could store them! Unfortunately, this didn’t prove to be the case, and we had to organise an alternative ourselves.
The apartment is advertised as Luxury Accommodation, with high rates to match, but is of modest standard. Although there was sufficient crockery etc for us as a threesome, other basic things were lacking, there were no teatowels, the dishwasher detergent was empty and no extra rubbish bags.. However, there was a less than hygienic dishcloth by the sink!
Rather strangely, we were instructed to only turn the hot water on via the fuse box 30 minutes before we wanted to use it and to turn the electricity off to the kitchen via the fuse box when we went out for the day!
What was more worrying, was the lack of ventilation which makes the apartment feel damp, plus, there was a large damp patch on one of the walls.
We never did meet George, although we did receive numerous confusing texts from him. Whenever I tried to phone him, he wasn’t available.
We would not recommend this rental.

Great location and view, but needs TLC
We stayed at the “Executive Suite in Plaka” in Athens from September 10-15, 2018, during a 17 day vacation in Greece. The apartment is perfectly situated for exploring the Plaka neighbourhood and the major sights in Athens, and a 10 minute walk to the subway and Syntagma Square. It has a wonderful view of the Acropolis, which is especially spectacular at night.
The apartment is well appointed, although the living room furniture is small and very low and therefore challenging for 6 foot tall visitors such as myself. The small wooden chair in the living area was particularly awkward for me to use. When at the apartment, we spent most of our time on the nicely sized balcony enjoying the views.
Our bedroom was small, with no dresser or table, but our queen-size bed was very comfortable. Our bathroom was clean and bright, but not ensuite. The kitchen was modern and reasonably well appointed, but was undersupplied with glasses and dishes to meet the needs of 4 adults. It also lacked some simple things such as a sharp breadknife. On the plus side, there was a clothes dryer even though we were told on arrival that the unit did not have one.
Our main criticism is that the apartment cries out for more maintenance and care. Although according to the ad it was purchased and renovated in 2017, many features are in disrepair:
• a bathroom door handle came off in our hands on first use
• louvered blinds in the second bedroom were missing (later noticed in a storage closet) leaving two gaping holes in the concrete wall
• a bedroom standing light fixture had no bulb
• cabinetry on the refrigerator door was hanging loosely, improperly secured with a wood screw due to a previous sloppy repair
• the internet did not work for the first 2 days of our 5 day stay
• a badly damaged edge on the patio table resulted in torn clothing
• the only ice cube tray was broken
Building security is also an issue. We were told on arrival to ensure that the building entrance door is closed and locked, but throughout our stay the lock was broken and the door open. A sign on the door actually broadcast that fact (in English and Greek) to all who passed by!
We never actually met or spoke to the owner (“George”) although we did have text and email exchanges (some of which were very confusing) throughout the process.
However, we definitely do not recommend taking up George’s offer to arrange ground transportation to/from the airport. While our pickup on arrival went well, our departure was extremely stressful. The owner-arranged 5:30 am pickup never materialized, and calls to his mobile and office phones went unanswered. We were lucky to find taxis in the 6 am gloom, and of course ended up with much higher transportation costs. With the chaos at Athens airport, we barely made our 8:30 am flight. George’s emailed response later (“sorry!”) was very disappointing.
