Sitting on top of a hill, Baan Chuddanip is stunning, with views from the infinity edge pool across the north of the island and across the water to Koh Phangan.
when we arrived, the girls took no time to launch themselves ecstatically down the slide into the water, where they stayed for the next six days, only coming out occasionally for meals, ice cream and long after dark to go to bed and dream about the pool.
Meanwhile, we staked our claim on the best bedroom with its elegant four-poster bed, two sliding glass walls and connecting poolside sala area. All of the interior spaces have been decorated with expanses of colour, comfortable furniture, interesting artifacts and art from around Thailand.
The flowers and plants are lovingly tended to by their gardener and helper Bo. Blooming pink bougainvillea and other flowers edge the open and covered terraces. Air roots dangle from one level to another adding a frayed edge to the shady areas. You can hang out together in a group or choose your own pocket of privacy from many over the three levels.
Ponty cooked us several delicious meals, which were all great value for money.
This place is ideal for a group of 6-14. You may want to rent a vehicle to get around but it has everything you need for the perfect stay.
