We spent a week at this place and enjoyed it very much. The views are amazing! Better than the pictures. The location is good for access to the city of Funchal and the airport without being too close to the city. There is a small town about a 10 minute (uphill) walk away, with a good selection of restaurants and a market. The house has everything you need to cook, BBQ, wash clothes, relax, etc. Jose is an excellent host and gave us all of the information we needed for our stay. He even setup and extra bedroom for us at the last minute. Overall I would recommend staying here for sure!

Absolutely Amazing Villa
Everything about this house is amazing! The views are just stunning, such a great experience to be able to watch the sun rise and set from the balconies. The views alone would make this an excellent house, but it has so much more - the inside is spacious, the kitchen has everything you could think of, the beds are very comfortable, the decor and furniture beautiful.
And we loved the overall location, very easy to get to from the airport, very quiet at night. There is a great little cafe beside the Cristo Rei statue, and we went a few times down the cable car to the Garajau beach bar for a sunset cocktail - all right beside the house.
Jose was very welcoming and helpful, and even drove to show us a supermarket and restaurant when we arrived. I really hope we get the chance to come back to Madeira and stay in this house again another time in the future!

A surreal Island and a surreal villa
This place is stunning and we make an excellent choice choosing to stay here. The host was lovely and José recommend lots of place to eat and where to go and couldn’t help us more. The pool is refreshing after a hot day and I would definitely choose to stay here again.

The most beautiful place we ever stayed in
We rented this villa for our wedding in July 2016 and definitely it was the best choice that we've made. It is located in the best area, in Cristo Rei. From the villa, the view is amazing. It is hard to describe it. You can see the ocean and the statue of Christ which is a must when you are on the island. Many tourists are visiting the statue every day, because the view from there is amazing. There is a beach 10 minutes walk from the villa, which is very nice as well. The water was a little bit cold in July but it was crystal clear. You need to rent a car in order to visit the island. Even the garage of the house is not available, you can park the car in front of the house, or anywhere on the street. There are many parking places and they are always free. Definitely, there is no issue with parking there. Funchal is very close, 10 minutes by car. The villa is much more beautiful than in the photos. It is so huge and we had it just for the two of us. There is so much privacy that I don't think we could find in a different place. It is very quiet and you can hear just the engine from the boat going from Funchal to Porto Santo. We spent every night at the villa. It is so beautiful that you can't go anywhere else. The view is just amazing, it was like a dream. We had a great wedding there. The pool was the best, we spent there almost every night. I would like to mention Jose, the owner, who is a great person. We even met his wife in the last day and they are both very nice. So far, this is the most beautiful place that we ever rented during our vacations. We would come back anytime there. Madeira is such a beautiful island and the people there are just amazing.

Fantastic Views
One of the nicest villas I have stayed in. Great location, amazing views overlooking the sea. Lots of space with really comfy beds and bedrooms. I would definitely stay here again.

Passar perfekt när man är en stor familj eller ett sällskap
Vi besökte Madeira i januari. Tyvärr var det inte så varmt men varmare än hemma i Finland åtminstone.
Vi var två vuxna och fyra ungdomar så det passade oss utmärkt att bo i ett stort hus med egen trädgård. En del kvällar fixade vi egen mat, en kväll hämtade vi take away mat från byn (verkligen prisvärt!) och naturligtvis åt vi ute både i Funchal och i Garajau. Fiskrestaurangen på stranden nedanför Jesus statyn rekommenderar vi verkligen INTE. En riktig besvikelse :(
Under vår vecka hann vi både med att köra fyrhjulingar, rida, köra linbana och kälkarna, vara ut på sjön med Christoffer Columbus båt och se delfiner och bara njuta.
Människorna på Madeira är jätte hjälpsamma och berättar gärna om sin ö och vad som är värt att besöka. Taxi chaufförerna är riktiga guldgruvor.
Villan var verkligen fint belägen med Atlanten nedanför och nära till Jesus statyn som var upplyst kvällstid. Tvättstuga med tvättmaskin och torktumlare räddade vår dag efter vi varit i bergen och kört fyrhjulingar och hade lera från topp till tå.
Det vi saknade i villan var ved så man skulle ha kunnat elda i den öppna spisen för husets uppvärmningssystem var aningen underdimensionerat.
Jose hade fixat så en taxi väntade på oss vid flygfältet som tog oss till villan. Perfekt service!

Der Name ist Programm
Eine traumhafte Aussicht uneingeschränkt auf die Steile Küste, Cristo Rei und die Desertas. Die Sonnenaufgänge sind ein Erlebnis. Das Haus ist sehr gut ausgestattet wenn auch hier und da etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber nichts wirklich kritisches. Von dem zeitweise etwas lautem Funchal bekommt man hier nichts mit. In der nahen Umgebung befindet sich alles was man braucht (Restaurants - allerdings gibt es viel bessere z.B. in Porto Cruz und Supermärkte für Selbstversorger).
Der Eigentümer ist sehr um das Wohl seiner Gäste bemüht und ist häufig vor Ort um nach dem rechten zu sehen (allerdings immer nur wenn niemand da ist um nicht zu stören) und so ist dann auch.Wir haben uns hier (6 Personen) sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Frühstück mit diesem Blick wird uns in Erinnerung bleiben.

Un alojamiento perfecto
Mi familia y yo, cuatro adultos y un niño de tres años, hemos pasado una semana fantástica en Madeira, en la villa Belo Horizonte. La isla es preciosa, es la isla de las flores, es muy escarpada con unos paisajes espectaculares. La vivienda nos resultó muy cómoda, estaba muy bien dotada y muy limpia. Las vistas sobre el acantilado son magníficas y el lugar es muy tranquilo, perfecto para pasar unas buenas vacaciones. Sus anfitriones, Amelia y Jose, son muy amables, nos trataron muy bien. Este alojamiento es muy recomendable.

Incredible location and residence
Breakfast with an ocean view. Swimming with an ocean view.
The fantastic equipped villa ...
This is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful locations we ever stayed.
Add to that the wonderful hospitality of José and Amalia, the owners of the villa, and you have a perfect holiday.

Welcome to paradise
We travelled from minus 25 degrees in Norway to paradise with 18-20 degrees, sunshine and a house with a stunning view in Madeira. Our one week away from snow turned out perfect. We managed a dip in the pool, stayed in for all meals and slept like a log for a week. Some windy nights and days, but the sun smiled. No knocking on the door for roomservice, turn-down or housekeeping. Lovely!
No party people around but a few busloads of tourists on a Sunday to Christo Rei that we could see with the binocular.
The house has a nice layout and tasty furniture that gives the house charm. The TV worked, internet and all kitchen stuff worked as well. The only drawback would be that we arrived late and had no food or any basic seasoning in the house. Salt/pepper rice/pasta stuff like that could have been nice to have in-house on arrival. Other places we have been to have provided this and we have been very grateful for that. But to the landlord´s benefit, he did follow us all the way to the supermarket that same evening.

Vivenda Belo Horizonte it's a luxury vivenda overlooking 180º the ocean Atlantic. The villa is located in Garajau considered a distinguished area due the nice villas around where the great majority upper class people leave.
Close to the centre of Funchal, only 12 minutes by car, to reach the town of the capital of Madeira Island near the villa 5 minutes walking, you can find restaurants and take away, rent a car, pharmacie, supermarket, laundry, coffee shop, etc.
Today it's possible to profit the new cable car where can en enjoy the sea side beach.
The Cristo Rei area, is considered a unique zen (charkas) place in the world, very famous.

How to get there
Leave the Airport and follow the road signs towards Via Rápida Funchal e Cancela / Garajau. Follow the Via Rápida (Freeway) and exit at junction no. 15, road sign Cancela/Garajau, on your right. When you arrive at the crossroads, turn down, to the left, towards Garajau.Continue to follow that road, where on your right you may find some shops and restaurants, and on your right you will see Hotel Dom Pedro Garajau, along the road. When you reach the end of this long strait road, follow the road sign indicating Cristo Rei. You have now entered in a road that is called Rua do Cristo Rei, go all the way until you reach the end, but instead of following all the way to the Cristo Rei statue, turn left, where you will find Vivenda Belo Horizonte.
