Perfect nature hide away for relaxation and self discovery
From the moment of our arrival to Cerdeira, we were overwhelmed by the uniqueness and the beauty of this authentic village and its setting in the remote wild nature environment, within a gorgeous valley. The sounds of birds singing and nearby river flowing created immediately and ambience for a relaxing weekend get away. The houses of Cerdeira are very cosy and include all the necessary facilities for a self-sufficient holiday. During our time at Cerdeira we did a lot of hiking in the forest and to near-by lakes. We also visited a nearby village and an had a guided tour of the old water mill. We also explored the orchard and gardens set within the village, about 2km from Cerdeira, and met with a couple of extremely friendly locals, who even invited us to visit their home/museum of the Portuguese lifestyle. We purchase local products, my favorite is the regional natural honey! Overall, it was a great experience with tons of activities for a few days of escape!

Authentic Portugal
Coming from the United States I wanted time away from the big cities and time in the Portuguese countryside. My time in Cerdeira was beautiful, refreshing, and the accommodations were wonderfully remodeled without losing the mountainside charm.
