Cottage

Casa Mel offers everything you need for a self catering holiday. Being an old cottage, the thickness of the original walls help it stay cool in the summer and warm in the winter, there is ceiling fans and panel heaters if necessary. There is a sunny roof terrace with table and chairs. The cottage has recently been renovated and provides spacious and airy accommodation but still retains its charm. The bathroom offers a large walk in shower. Situated in the heart of the old town you are within strolling distance of ample cafes, restaurants and shops. Wi-fi is available in the the cottage. The golden beaches of Carvoeiro and Ferragudo are a 15 minute drive.

Location très bien

Bel appartements avec terrasse au cœur de la ville. L’appartement est très bien décoré. Commerce à proximité. Propriétaire très gentille et accueillante.

Perfect little cottage for couples in beautiful Silves

We enjoyed our stay very much, the cottage is lovely and perfect for a couple, situated in the calm, peaceful and romantic town of Silves. It was a strategically good point to start our daily trips (car recommended!) as the town is situated more or less right in the middle of the Algarve. We almost always found a parking place right next to the flat. The landlady was very nice and helpful, in advance she sent us documents with recommendations for restaurants, markets, the direction to the flat, the wifi key etc. Also she provided everything we asked for. All in all we are completely happy with our choice, would also come to the cottage again and we recommend it to all travellers who enjoy calmness and are looking fora less touristic but more traditional place to stay.

Lovely stay

This cottage was perfect for our needs. It's well situated in beautiful Silves. Compact and comfortable, no noise at night. Marion was a wonderful host without being intrusive. Would thoroughly recommend.

Excepcional casa

Casa increíble en medio de la ciudad de Silves. Sencilla, acogedora y excelente ubicación. Os la recomiendo. Silves es un pueblo con encanto y bastante cerca de las fabulosas playas del Algarve. Marion, la propietaria nos atendió genial. Súper atenta y se preocupó por nosotros. Nos dejamos varias cosas olvidadas y nos las envió. Eternamente agradecidos con ella. Un 10 en todo.

Lovely cottage with a fabulous host

We stayed at Casa Mel for four nights for a short break and I can't recommend it highly enough. Marion, the cottages owner responded quickly to emails and gave us great instructions on how to find the cottage, where to park and some useful information on local amenities. On arrival Marion and lovely Monty the dog met us, gave us a quick briefing on the essentials and left us to settle in and enjoy the thoughtful supplies she'd left. The cottage itself is very cosy and space is used well, there's lots of storage and the kitchen is really well equipped. The shower is nice and powerful with no lack of hot water and Marion provided plenty of towels. 5G WiFi and a flat screen TV make it a real home from home (although we never switched it on!) The roof terrace was a great spot for stargazing with a glass of wine after a day of sightseeing, so we headed up there instead.. Much better than TV! Parking was free by the cathedral and we always managed to find a space. Casa Mel is on a very quiet street that is centrally located with shops, bars and great restaurants within easy walking distance. The street is quite steep at the top though, so if you have walking difficulties you may need some help. All in all I can't think of anything that could have improved our stay, apart from a few more days to enjoy it all.

Fabulous cottage

Just returned from visiting silves ,and our stay at Marion’s cottage was absolutely perfect . Location is great .close by to local bars and restaurants which are typical Portuguese.great to try after days out at various beaches ,apparently 40 beaches within an hours drive Cottage has everything you need and spotlessly clean . Upon arrival .welcome pack .and Marion is always available to assist you in any way would definitely recommend a stay in Casa mel . Can’t wait wait to return to this beautiful town of silves

I can’t keep away

I usually book this cute little cottage every August with my husband (I am going this August again too!). This time I went for 6 nights with my friend. The cottage is spotlessly clean and has everything you need for a home away from home. Marian, the owner kindly left a welcome pack with milk, teabags, bread, butter and a few other things which was very welcome as we arrived late and was ready for some tea and toast! It was great to see everything anew through my friends eyes - the location is perfect for those who don’t want the standard hotel and pool. The kitchen it well equipped for cooking at home and there’s plenty fabulous restaurants and bars in Silves and within walking distance. We always hire a car as the driving is easy and there’s about 40 beaches within a 30minute drive not to mention the beautiful villages and towns. It’s always nice at the end of a beach /tourist day to return to Casa Mel where you can slip back into a more relaxing, authentic way of life within the oldest part of Silves, where the cobbled narrow streets are quiet . Marian is a super host with maps, advice and it’s just great to know there’s someone there if you need her. I’m counting down to August and my return!

Fantástica!

Absolutamente fantástica!a la casa no Le falta detalle, es monisima,super limpia y está super bien ubicada.. está en el mismo casco antiguo del pueblo al lado del castillo y la catedral y sorprendente siempre hay aparcamiento! Hay una plácita justo al lado y siempre tiene sitio.recomiendo silves para el alojamiento, tranquilo y apartado del agobio del turismo.. la casera Marion, super amable, eso si.. Ni papa de español solo inglés, pero nos recibió genial, nos tenía en el frigorífico vino tinto, blanco,cerveza, agua e incluso champán! Eso no lo hace todo el mundo, un super detalle por su parte!! Volveremos! We will be back! Thank you so much Marion!! Kisses

Great location

Had a great holiday in Silves. Ideal location with so much culture and great restaurants on your doorstop, wonderful secluded beaches just 15 min drive away. We arrived to a wonderful classical concert being held in the 14th century cathedral. Marion is a great host leaving us a lovely welcome pack including wine & beer ! Will definitely return.

Lovely Place to Stay in Silves

We had a lovely week staying in Casa Mel. The location is great, very convenient for eating and drinking in the town. The accomadation was perfect and very comfortable. We would definetley stay again when visiting Silves.
