We stayed here for a week while attending an Irish language course in Acadamh na Gaillimhe which is very close by.

This is a truly exceptional property - it feels like a living family home rather than a vacation rental. It has every mod con, including full range of satellite TV channels and is solid comfortable and cosy. Máire ( the "Bean a' Tí") was delightful; her generosity in supplying her lovely scones was a highlight of the trip.

The house and its garden are wonderfully looked after with flowers herbs and strawberries growing.

The central heating is very effective (only needed it one day - this is the west of Ireland after all.) We used the turf burning stove once - this is very cosy indeed though would not be safe with children around, I think.

Go raibh míle maith agat a Mháire - bhaineamar an sult as ár gcuid laethanta saoire i do theach.

Arriving as arranged at 4pm we were met by Mhaire who had lit two stoves with "turf" to "take the chill off". The Cottage is more than charming, and the quality of the interior is excellent, and very much to our own taste, with wonderful individual pieces of furniture, and delightful objets and artworks, that reflect the locality.
The facilities cannot be faulted, and to top it all (it being Easter week) Mhaire had placed delightful decorations in unexpected places. There were homemade scones and jam to greet us, as...
