Lovely place to stay
Found this lovely holiday home on a last minute search and so glad we did. Was a lovely clean, comfortable home in a beautiful part of Wales. Lynne the owner was there to great us and made us feel very welcome and gave us a run down of the home, the area and places to go. We had everything we needed inside and out to help us have a great relaxing break away and we will stay here again.

Another amazing holiday
I love this place. We are a family of 3 young children (4,4,5) and this is our second holiday here. It’s just such an easy holiday, everything is so close. The beach is a couple of minutes and so is the ice cream and chip shop. Port Eynon is pretty small but that’s what makes it so wonderful, everything you need is there but it’s not too busy that it deflects from the beauty. The bungalow is perfect, 2 bedrooms and the pullout sofa. The garden is perfect for outdoor dinner and our kids love riding their kids around the front. Lynne is wonderful, any issues are promptly fixed and communication is perfect. We’ve already booked for next year and it will be s continued annual holiday. Delightful place.

Great stay
The location is amazing with only a short walk to the beach. This meant we didn’t need to be driving anywhere and could stroll back and forth. Bungalow was clean and tidy. Fab little garden as well.

Perfect seaside retreat
Lovely cottage with a sea view. Comfortable beds, plenty of seating both inside and in the garden. Nice private space at the back and lovely seating area at the front. Everything we could have needed was supplied and I was grateful for the offer of linens and towels so that we didn't have to take that with us.

Another awesome year at Bungalow 5
We’ve been staying here for many years in a row now and I think that says it all really! Well equipped and clean accommodation with a very short walk to a brilliant beach. Our kids (ages 3 & 9 now) love coming here for their annual beach holiday.

Beautiful bungalow
We had a meet and greet on arrival with Lynne who was most helpful and informative. The bungalow was very clean and very comfortable. The location is perfect with a short walk to the beach, several takeaways and restaurants and coastal walks. I would highly recommend this bungalow for a peaceful and comfortable stay.

Wonderful location with beautiful views.Would have liked a side table to use by sofa for putting cup of tea etc Sun canopy was very difficult to pull out and probably needs replacing but these are not things that would stop us recommending ,we had a lovely week and Gower Peninsula is stunning

Dear Sandra, thanks for the lovely review. We are delighted you like our bungalow and enjoyed the Gower. We will have a look at the Sun canopy in the back garden, the salt air has probably stiffened the mechanising. Thanks for letting us know. Kind regards Lynne

Fantastic
Stayed here last year and it was fantastic so rebooked for this year, what another fantastic year, bungalow was lovely and clean and a lovely welcome from the owners. Some new modifications such as a beautiful sofa (which is extremely comfortable), new TV and a really comfortable new mattress in the main bedroom. As the weather was beautiful we stayed on the beach most of the time, it is only a short walk back to bungalow, so this was very convenient with having two children. My husband and Myself are already looking to Book again next year.

About the neighborhood
Absailing, climbing, walking, swimming, hiking, cycling, horse riding, archery, bushcraft, hang/paraglyding, kite flying, canoeing, surfing, kite surfing, boat trips, bird watching, pottery are all available on the Gower peninsulaBirdwatchingA variety of habitats makes Gower a haven for birdwatchers. Some of the species you may see include herons, kingfishers and egrets. FishingGower is well known for its superb bass fishing, but there are also many other species of fish to be. Porteynon, Oxwich and Llangenith are popular places for fishing, but you can also book trips out of Swansea. Port Eynon, is a village of white washed cottages surrounding a church which, it is believed was founded in the 6th century. There is a fairly quiet sandy beach, which has parking close by, and is patrolled by lifeguards in the summer months. The village has a shop, a public house and a café (open in season) and is steeped in history. During the 19th century Oyster dredging was huge, with many Oyster skiffs working out of the harbour. The visible remains of the harbour can be seen in the sheltered west end of the bay. Established in the 16th Century, the remains of the salt house stands to the far south west of the bay, a valuable commodity in those days. The cliffs to the west of Port Eynon are witness to numerous shipwrecks during the 18th,19th and early 20th century with associated tales of smuggling and piracy. Along these cliffs just to the west of Port Eynon point lies the mysterious cave of Culver Hole. A cleft in the rock protected by a man made stone wall. Fabled to have a tunnel linking the site with a manor house that once stood on Port Eyon Point..A 10 minute drive will take you to Rhossili Bay, a wide beach with miles of golden sand. At one end is Burry Holmes, an outcrop of land, with a tiny chapel. Beyond the headland is Broughton Bay which has an abundance of sand dunes. At the other end of Rhossili Bay is the Worms Head which rears out of the sea with its impressive Blow Hole which you can explore at low tide, and up on the cliff top is the village of Rhossili where there are a few shops and cafes with some amazing views over the bay – watch out for the paragliders. The village of Llangennith is half way along the bay and about a mile inland. There is a campsite and caravan park set back from the beach with parking, a café and facilities – a good base if you want to enjoy the beach and popular with surfers. With only a pub and a surf shop the village of Llangennith remains untouched, but the pub fayre is fairly inexpensive with nice views over the bay complimented by a very tasty Gower Special pizza (cockles and bacon).Travelling in the opposite direction, Oxwich Bay is the next beach along from Port Eynon ( by car ) and probably the busiest of the rural beaches on Gower with good facilities. The Oxwich Bay offers bar meals as well as a restaurant and the beach itself has a water sports club where you can learn to sail or surf, wakeboard or take a doughnut ride At the other end of Oxwich is Three Cliffs Bay one of the most photographed beauty spots on Gower. Here a river meets the sea, sheep graze on the grassy verges overlooking the beach, wild ponies roam freely and the board walk winds its way up to Pennard Castle. Theres a lot to absorb in just one snapshot.Travelling along the South Gower Road for another 10minutes is Parkmill, where you will find the Gower Heritage Centre with its many attractions for all the family including an 800 year old working water mill. A few yards away are 70 acres of peaceful Parc le Breos where you can take a quiet stroll, hire bikes or enjoy a day out on horseback. At the centre of the peninsula is the lofty moor land called Cefn Bryn, one of the highest points on Gower, and the burial ground of the legendary King Arthur. From here, on a clear day you can see as far as Devon to the south and the Black Mountains to the North. The village of Reynoldston is just across the green, home to the King Arthur Hotel where some of the best pub food in the area can be found. If a little more action is your cup of tea, then try the old fishing village of Mumbles (from Port Eynon its approximately half an hour by car) where there are cafes, and restaurants, gift shops and boutiques in abundance. Make sure you dont leave without enjoying a stroll along the promenade with a Joes ice cream - the best in area.
Getting around
Although a car is recommended, there is a good local bus service that travels through many of the villages and beaches, it also services many of the main towns including Swansea. Swansea itself has good transport links with train and national express services operating out of the city centre. Swansea Airport is between the City and Port Eynon and offers scenic flights over the Gower and also Helicopter rides if your budgets suits.
