Condo/Apartment -
3 Bedrooms , 2 Bathrooms , Sleeps 6
Zermatt, Canton of Valais, Swiss Alps
Zayetta 54, an apartment on 5th floor has a special and indefinable feel to it. The charming painted wood panelled interior and open fire place, together with a 'gemutlich' newly furnished living room, offers a warm, welcoming and comfortable respite to a hard day on the slopes.

The south facing balcony, with its unimpeded views over the rooftops of Zermatt and a small paddock where horses graze lazily in the Spring, provides relaxed sunbathing for non skiers and spectacular views of the stunning Matterhorn amphitheatre.

Longing to get skiing? Be first on the slops, with the famous Gornergrat mountain railway only a three minute walk away linking you to the entire skiing region of Zermatt and Cervinia in Italy alternatively take a two minute meander down to the bakery for fresh croissants.

The apartment is wonderfully loca...

About the neighborhood
For guests travelling by car from Geneva, a stop at Martigny is not to be missed, where the Fondation Giannada has not only a permanent art exhibition but antique cars and other exciting short term exhibitions. Zermatt, whether in Summer or Winter, is a paradise for the sporting - but there are concerts too and the Zermatt Chamber of Music Festival in September and other activities such as glamorous shopping, dining in first class restaurants appeal to all tastes and ages and gastronomic adventurers.

Quaint, cobbled streets among traditional rustic chalets and small wooden barns - where animals living below once provided central heating for Zermatt's farmers living above the animals - are still to be explored in the very centre of this world famous resort and all of this enjoyed w...
Getting around
There are no cars in Zermatt. Taxis can be ordered to come to the apartment or a two minute walk will bring you to the station square where they can be picked up. Opposite the main station there is a mountain train, know as the Gornergrat train running three times an hour in the day time. This train links to all the different ski areas. Buses also leave from here to all the ski areas and the outskirts of Zermatt. In peak times these run every 6 or 7 minutes but they do not run at night..
Car not needed
How to get there
Airport: Geneva or Zurich or Milan: 136.7 mi
Fly to Zurich or Geneva (Easyjet) and on leaving the airport station, enjoy about a three & a half hours train journey of picturesque scenery up to Zermatt.

Alternatively, drive more quickly by car to the village of Tasch where there is covered parking before the 10 min train journey to Zermatt. This runs every 20 mins in the Winter & Summer from 6 am - 11.30pm after which taxis are available. But in high season, trains run all night, please check. www.sbb.ch
Trains from Milan & Zurich are marginally longer.

Haus Zayetta is so close to the station that there is no need for a taxi in Zermatt . Luggage can be put on trolleys and taken round the front of the Hotel Alex to Haus Zayetta which is a 3 mins walk from the station.

With the Gornegrat train and main square so cl...
