Vinci, birthplace of Leonardo, is a small village on a hilltop surrounded by vineyeards and olive groves. It sits just below the Montalbano hill that used to be the hunting reserve of the Medici family. Getting around

You can reach most destinations by car. We highly recommend to visit Florence by train from Empoli. The journey takes about 30 minutes and the train takes you right in the heart of Florence. Can use the train to reach Siena and Pisa too.

How to get there

Vinci is located between Florence and Pisa which are connected by a fast road called Fi-Pi-Li. Exit the Fi-Pi-Li at Empoli by the Coop Centro shopping centre and follow the signs for Vinci. When you arrive in Vinci your have to drive through the village going uphill, passed the castle and carry on going uphill through a narrowing of the road, passed a group of houses on the right and a S curve. After about 150mt take the countrylane on the left signed Podere Zollaio and after 500 mt you will have reached your destination.
