We stayed at the Villa recently with our three adult children and their partners for two weeks. This was to be an ultimate Tuscany holiday and the location did not disappoint.
For some reason we expected Villa Angelini to be on the outskirts of town but were pleasantly surprised to find it is in the centre of the little village and cloistered by neighbouring buildings. The front door opens onto the main street and the back opens to a private valley view of classic Tuscan beauty.
The building is huge with many large spaces that dwarfed our modest needs and at night could become a little eerie. The furnishings are dated and the TV sets all come from the 1990s but who goes to Italy to watch TV?
The back yard leading down to the pool is dotted with date, peach, orange and pear trees that produce tasty fruit. There is a big BBQ for serious outdoor cook ups and plenty of alfresco seating.
