For those loving hills, we suggest Calci , an area made up of ancient small villages, famous for the production of an excellent Tuscan olive oil, for its Charterhouse and the Museum of Natural History, and nearby San Giuliano Terme with its SPA. Do not miss the GIUGNO PISANO (June in Pisa) , a whole month full of historical commemorations, concerts, street parties and cultural events. Among them the following events can be enjoyed directly from the “La Casina”: La Luminara di San Ranieri (San Ranieri Candlelight – patron saint of the city) (June 16th) , the historical San Ranieri regatta (June 17th) and the Gioco del Ponte (the last Saturday of June) with the Historical Parade along the banks of the Arno River with more than 700 walks on. And then the Battle on the Ponte di Mezzo Bridge that shows the battle between the two historical teams of the city: Tramontana and Mezzogiorno.

Great city centre apartment
I travelled to Pisa as a last minute break with my 17 year old son. We took the apartment to give us separate sleeping areas. The apartment is compact but has everything you want and is easy walking to the station, town and the leaning tower and only 9 euros from the airport in a taxi. Travel to Florence was easy by train. The apartment does not have air con but has a fan and is in a back street out of direct sun so was cool enough for us. The kitchen was functional for what we needed and we could have made a meal if we desired. I think it would be small for 4 people but as it is central, if you were eating out would be fine for 4. Our host Giovanni was there to meet us when we arrived mid day is and check out was flexible. The place was very clean and well stocked. Giovanni answered emails very quickly with help and advice

Nice apartment in Pisa
The apartment was central, a ten minute walk from the station and the Piazza del Duomo. It was neat and well-equipped, with everything you need for providing meals at home, but plenty of restuarants nearby. Good firm queen bed upstairs, with plenty of storage space, but we chose to leave our luggage downstairs. Extra blankets and pillows if required. Kitchen, living/dining and bathroom/laundry on ground-floor level. Small but adequate shower with good water pressure. Washing machine easy to operate. Ideal for two adults, second bed is sofa bed downstairs. Giovanni was on site to greet us when we arrived and made us feel very welcome. Recommended

Fabulous location, excellent host
The apartment is clean, comfortable and characterful in an excellent location by the river within easy walking distance of Pisa's main attractions, bars and restaurants. Giovanni is a friendly and extremely helpful host and gave us some great advice on parking etc. We would not hesitate in recommending others to stay here and hopefully will return ourselves sometime.

Central Location, Easy transport Link
This was a lovely place that would be ideal for a couple. We had everything that we needed, though it was a squeeze for four girls when the sofa bed was out. The only other thing that let it down was the WiFi connection, it was very temperamental . Having said that, within a day or two of staying here we had already got used to the surrounding locality, it was in a good location for travelling to other parts of Italy and just generally getting about . There was an abundance of shops, restaurants and bars around which was perfect in the evenings. They host was good at communicating via email but again this was dependant on our WiFi connection. Overall, pleased with our stay and visit.

Beautiful apartment in a fantastic location
What a wonderful little apartment! Everything you need for a break in lively and beautiful Pisa. Very well equipped and comfortable, and the master bedroom is just gorgeous! Giovanni the landlord was very welcoming and helpful, and even booked us a taxi to catch our early flight home! I would highly recommend this property to couples, less sure about families as it would be very cramped! If you're a light sleeper, there is a bit of road noise, but this quietened down after about 11pm and the apartment definitely makes up for it.

Good Location and Excellent Owner
The apartment was clean, well equipped kitchen and had a lot of character. The location is only 10 minutes walk over the bridge to the Leaning Tower, 10 minutes walk along the Corso Italia to the train station and a short stroll to good restaurants. Giovanni, the landlord, was excellent and very reliable. He was waiting for us at the apartment after midnight with the keys and gave us a quick tour of the apartment. He also showed us places of interest on a map and gave us a present of Italian biscuits you eat with sweet wine. Finally he booked a very early morning taxi to the airport. We visited both Florence and Lucca by trains that were both great trips. The only thing is if you are very light sleepers you will hear the traffic and people passing the apartment during the night. However this did not spoil a very enjoyable 4 night break in vibrant Pisa. According to my husband’s fitbit we manage to walk over 17,000 steps in Pisa so we were ready for lots of pizza, pasta, panini and wine!

Great location, beautifully kept apartment
Giovanni was a great host and helped with parking and took us on a tour of the neighborhood. Everything is easily accessible from the apartment by taking any number of beautiful walks throughout Pisa. Good restaurants nearby, and a joy to walk along the Arno to get to any of the bridges. Apartment is completely fully equipped and we had our breakfast there every day.

About the neighborhood
Pisa is a city in Tuscany, Central Italy, on the right bank of the mouth of the River Arno on the Tyrrhenian Sea. It is the capital city of the Province of Pisa. Although Pisa is known worldwide for its leaning tower (the bell tower of the city's cathedral), the city of over 88,332 residents (around 200,000 with the metropolitan area) contains more than 20 other historic churches, several palaces and various bridges across the River Arno. The city is also home of the University of Pisa, which has a history going back to the 12th century and also has the mythic Napoleonic Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa and Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies as the best Superior Graduate Schools in Italy.
