At 15 minutes from Florence the Hayloft, recently restructured, has one double bedroom with bathroom/shower as well as the fully equipped kitchen and living room on the lower level, with an exclusive small front garden. Through an inner staircase you can reach the upper level with one bedroom with bathroom/shower and two single beds. This bedroom can also use an independent entrance that opens on a exclusive lawn. Both bedrooms are airconditioned.The large shared pool (meters 15.50 X 7.00 X 1.25 ), treated with natural salt, not visible from the house and surrounded by vegetation,is open from May 15th to September 30th. Personal transportation is advised. Beautiful setting, lovely compact 2 bedroom villa. Pool is also great but a good walk down the lane. Our host Andrea was so helpful and was lovely, he was happy to offer advice about transport and restaurants etc. The only thing you need to be comfortable with is the rural location and access by car, as it is at the end of a narrow hilly track that is about 2 km long and very steep and windy! Overal was ideal for our stay in Florence and was easy to get trains to the City (hard to park in Florence).

Thank you Julian and Sharon, we really appreciate the nice review and are glad you enjoyed your stay. For our future guests I would like to point out that the windy road to Caldine is just under 1 Kilometer (1.5 miles) and not 2 Kilometers.
The pool is is about 100 meters away, but the short walk is compensated by the fact that the distance prevents the apartments to hear the normal pool noise, especially with joyful playing children. The peaceful quiet is appreciated by our guests as a highlight of our property.

Fabulous property and host - a memorable experience!
My wife and two children loved every moment of our stay at the Hayloft. "Mr. Andrea" and his family were extremely knowledgeable and hospitable. The place is tranquil and bucolic in its setting, just minutes outside of Fiesole, halfway up the side of the mountain. The original 15th- century, two-level structure was just completely renovated with all modern conveniences. My kids loved spending the day in nearby Florence and then coming back to Caldine in the late afternoon to swim in the cool, refreshing salt water pool. Our stay was truly a magical time, one which we will always remember.

An excellent week
We travelled as a family of 2 able bodied over 65yr olds, son and daughter in law and 11 month old baby. We were greeted on arrival and shown the property which is on two levels, which proved to be perfect for our stay. Rustic in appearance but it has been completely refurbished and furnished to a high standard. The owner and his family were extremely helpful, friendly and caring and gave us every assistance throughout our stay. It is in a secluded and peaceful location amongst the olive groves yet close to the vibrancy of Florence. We were all sorry to leave.

This beautiful ancient hayloft, recently restored, is part of the “ Fattoria Il Leccio” lived and owned by the Passigli family for four generations. It sits on top of a hill overlooking the Valle del Mugnone, a gorgeous valley that offers panoramic views of gently slopping hills cultivated with well-tended olive groves as well as views of the town of Fiesole and the city of Florence. Giovanni Boccaccio in his 13th Century Decameron, locates some of his stories in this valley.
