##Space EREMO SAN FREDIANO Petit maison de charme The apartment, part of an ancient convent of Carmelite friars, is located in the historic center of Florence, in the homonymous Borgo San Frediano that runs along the Arno, among shops, markets and old taverns. Forty square meters with a small outdoor courtyard for a comfortable stay to discover the city so well told by James Ivory in his cinematic masterpiece 'Camera con vista'. Ponte Vecchio is just a few steps away, reachable along the Arno or crossing the characteristic alleys of the Borgo (15 min walk away); nearby the Duomo and the city in all its beauty. The apartment consists of: - a living area where you can read one of the books that are in the flat or watch a movie in the language you prefer; - a fully equipped kitchenette;...##Space EREMO SAN FREDIANO Petit maison de charme The apartment, part of an ancient convent of Carmelite friars, is located in the historic center of Florence, in the homonymous Borgo San Frediano that runs along the Arno, among shops, markets and old taverns. The apartment consists of: - a living area where you can read one of the books that are in the flat or watch a movie in the language you prefer; - a fully equipped kitchenette; - a bedroom that, between niches and exposed beams, will provide restful sleep; - a fully equipped bathroom, towels and shampoos are provided; - a small outdoor courtyard adjacent to the bedroom.   There are no steps inside the property and it is easily accessible. ##Guest access You will have the whole place to yourself. We will provide you with the products needed for it, as well as basic supplies for cooking and shower. The whole place is available. ##Interaction with guests My home is managed by Hostmaker; they are an award-winning property management service team who know Florence like the back of their hand! For a slice of culture, head to the amazing Bardini Museum, home to a brilliant collection of classic sculptures. There is also the Gallery of Modern Art that sits in the Pitti Palace (former home of the powerful Medici family) and showcases a large collection of paintings and sculptures from the 19th and 20th Century. Between the Via Maggio and Piazza Pitti, you’ll find small streets full of little artisan workshops, where you’ll see everything from jewellery to books and shoes to musical instruments being made by hand. Buying souvenirs from these shops will cost you less and allow you to support the craftsmen and women of the city. No visit to any neighbourhood in Florence is complete without a trip to one of the many incredible churches that define the city. In Oltrarno, one of the treasures of the area is the Cappella Brancacci, where you’ll find artwork by Masolino da Panicale, Masaccio and Filippino Lippi. Much of the rest of the basilica was destroyed by fire in the 1700s, but this small chapel survived, along with its beautiful 15th Century frescos. The two restaurants that are most popular with tourists are Gustapizza and Casalinga, but while the food is good, both of these institutions suffer a little from being tourist traps, becoming more of an attraction than a restaurant. For a really great meal, try Magazzino for their excellent Fiorentina steaks, or Trattoria Camillo where you’ll find a mix of Florentine and Bolognese dishes. Essenziale is perhaps the best place to sample inventive and original modern Tuscan cuisine. Order the tasting menu to enjoy a good range of the exceptional cooking of the chef, Simone Cipriani. You won’t find Cavolo Nero in many tourist guides, but this charming little trattoria has a back garden with a few tables which are the perfect place to relax and unwind away from the busy streets of the city. Enjoy a glass of wine from the extensive wine list and then tuck into some antipasti. Finally, one of the best places to enjoy an aperitivo drink is Zoe’s, where you’ll be able to enjoy a carefully created cocktail in a relaxed atmosphere before your evening meal. Alternatively, head further east along the southern bank of the River Arno to Il Rifrullo, where you can enjoy your aperitivo on the terrace overlooking the river. ##Transit The apartment is located in a central area, in the heart of San Frediano, about 15 minutes walk from Santa Maria Novella station. To get to the flat by bus, from the station, walk for about two minutes to Piazza degli Ottaviani and take the 6A bus towards Ospedale Torre Galli, get off on Lungarno Santa Rosa and walk for about three minutes. From Santa Maria Novella station the house can be reached by taxi in 8 minutes. The apartment is located outside the ZTL (limited traffic zone), for those arriving by car it is possible to park along the street within the blue lines that are subject to charges. The nearest private garage is Parking Tiratoio, via del Tiratoio 3, two minutes walk from the apartment. From theMore
