The room is charming... the frescoes are beautiful and it is a delight to sleep in an ex Cardinal's Chapel. However... I stayed there for 3 nights and I was annoyed constantly by the noise coming from upstairs, from the corridor and even from the fireplace. Yes, the fireplace was obviously connected to some other room and we could hear people speaking. From upstairs there was constant moving of chairs, people running, walking... a nightmare from early morning. The corridor even was worse: The bedroom you book comes with an annexed room where the bathroom is.... but the architect renovating the area made a poor choice: the room was divided in two: one part is your private bathroom and dining area (by the way it is forbidden to eat in here) the other part of the room is a corridor leading into another guest's room... the corridor has been closed on the top with transparent plexiglass and so was our bathroom... which meant that whoever was walking in that corridor could hear whatever was going on in the bathroom and see the lights on or off... lights which could be turned off from the corridor... what kind of privacy do you get if your bedroom ceiling is open and you can hear everything going on in the reception , hear the people talk constantly? Even when we talked we needed to keep voices low because everything could be heard. The plexiglass was installed to close off the ceiling of bathroom and corridor but one side was not even covered - the plexi was installed because of the very high ceiling with fresco which could not be ruined with a regular wall. They needed to find a way to make more money by dividing the area but the result is poor also because the bathroom has no window... The hefty price is not at all worth what you get. I was very disappointed. However I must say that the receptionist/owner of this place was really nice and pleasant. but unfortunately I would not recommend this room for: lack of privacy, too much noise heard... and last but not least: there is a sigh in the room. saying that you cannot eat food in the room.. NO FOOD ALLOWED?? is this a joke?
