Perfectly situated, newly renovated 1St floor apartment in the heart of Stresa
My wife and I had a comfortable 2 week stay in this lovely spacious apartment. There are many positive positive points about this place.
The location is ideal for easy access on foot to the ferry terminal, promenade, airport transfer bus stop, promenade, restaurants and shops.
The property itself has a traditional old facade, but inside the apartment has been recently renovated and modernised to a excellent standard and decoration is plain, bright and airy.
We ate out most evenings, but on the couple of occasions we cooked, found a comprehensive range of kitchen equipment and tools.
The large terrace, accessed from the kitchen/diner was a delightful spot to enjoy leisurely breakfasts, as it was bathed in the morning sun. The terrace is shared with a neighbouring apartment but is large enough for both without feeling any loss of personal space.
There is also balcony on the other side of the apartment accessed off the lounge area. We used this less, but was useful as it caught the late afternoon sun.
We enjoyed the spaciousness of all the rooms and the generous amount of wardrobe and storage. My wife has a particular critical eye for bathrooms and this one passed with flying colours. Brand new, spotlessly clean, excellent shower, quality fittings.
Our host, Ambretta, was very helpful and informative. She speaks very good English and provided plenty of useful tips for getting the most from our visit. She also provided a good selection of brochures and tourist information that was invaluable for planning our exploration of this beautiful lake.
We are a mature couple of active over 60's, but in the interest of balance would point out that there is no lift in this building, so the stairs to the first floor may not be suitable for people with mobility issues.
As for us, we would have no hesitation in staying in this apartment when visiting Stresa again.
