In MONTI DISTRICT, one of the most typical and central of Rome, between the Forum, the Coliseum (8' walking) and the Santa Maria Maggiore Church (4' walking). you will find Casa Virgilio on the ground floor of an 17th century building.
Casa Virgilio in Monti is easy to access. From the Fiumicino Airport use train Leonardo to the Termini railway station (10' walking). From the Ciampino Airport use the bus to Termini Station. From the Termini station 10' walking or by subway, Line B, stop Cavour which is at 2 blocks from Casa Virgilio (4' walking).

Perfekte Ferienwohnung für einen Romaufenthalt
Die Lage der Ferienwohnung ist ausgezeichnet für eine Erkundung der Stadt zu Fuß oder mit der U-Bahn. Eine Vielzahl an Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten befinden sich in unmittelbarer Nähe. Die Wohnung selbst liegt in einem Wohnviertel mit keinerlei Straßenlärm. Die Ausstattung ist top und für 4 Personen ideal. Jean-Luis ist ein sehr zuvorkommender Gastgeber. Er hat viele nützliche Tipps, um die Stadt zu erkunden und er stellt am Anreisetag sogar kostenlos eine Grundausstattung an Lebensmitteln und Getränken zur Verfügung.

Spacious, comfortable and well placed apartment
JeanLouis couldn't be a more helpful host, the bed was super comfy, the apartment very clean and very well situated for exploring ancient Rome on foot. We've been to Rome 4 times in last 10 years, this was our first trip staying in JeanLoius's apartment and we wouldn't hesitate to use it again.

Like Visiting Friends!
Our hosts, Jean Louis and Laura, made us feel so welcome from our very first communication with them - they are a delight! We, along with another couple, were in the apartment for 2 weeks and cleaning was provided several times during our stay. The apartment is located on a quiet street just off the main street of Cavour, is secure and is close to the Termini Train Station. Jean Louis can seamlessly arrange airport transportation if you wish. The location is perfect for visiting any and all local attractions on foot or by public transportation including the close and convenient subway, with bars, restaurants, and shops of all kinds right at your feet. The apartment, two bedrooms/two bathrooms, itself worked well for us and another couple who traveled with us - there was space in the apartment and on the terrace where we could come together and where we played dominoes each evening and also, space for privacy for each couple. Jean Louis and his wife Laura were perfect hosts - attentive to our needs and questions and provided fabulous breakfasts with beautiful plates of fresh fruit, eggs to order on certain days, always lots of coffee, juice, yogurt and various breads and, the real treat was Laura's baking and providing homemade marmalades and special condiments for the yogurt. We could not have felt more welcome or be located in a better location.

Super situation pour visiter Rome
Un très bel accueil de la part de nos hôtes avec de petites attentions qui font la différence.
L’appartement est très bien situé pour tour faire à pied, dans une rue calme.
Un lieu atypique et agréable.

Fabulous stay
What a great place to stay! From the moment we arrived Jean Louis and Laura were great hosts. Really helpful and welcoming with great tips on out of the way sights (Basilica di S.Prassede) on the doorstep! The Casa Virgilio is very close to the Santa Maria Maggiore and the Colosseum and Victor Emmanuel monument are a short walk away. In fact it is very central location for everything but a lovely quiet place to come home to after a busy day sightseeing. You wouldn’t know you were sleeping in the centre of a very busy city. The accommodation has everything you could need including very comfortable beds and a very relaxed feel about it. Can thoroughly recommend a stay here and we will hopefully be back early next year. Thank you for a fabulous stay.

A wonderful short break in beautiful Rome
My first visit to Rome but definitely not my last. I was travelling with a friend and her husband so the two inter- connecting apartments were perfect for us. What a find! We could hardly believe our luck as previous reviewers have said, we didn’t want for anything. Jean- Louis is the perfect caring host and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for, from welcoming wine, fresh fruit and chocolates, to daily delicious breakfasts, beautifully presented. Jean-Louis says that his aim is to show people the “real Italy” and this he does very successfully. So thank you Jean - Louis, Laura and Odette, for making our stay in Rome so unforgettable, and we hope to meet you again one day. Maybe in rural Norfolk? Elizabeth, Cheryl and Brian

Tout y était pour que nous passions un séjour délicieux : en plein coeur de Rome, dans un quartier vivant et pratique, un logement confortable et très calme. Et surtout un accueil d'une qualité remarquable. Jean-Louis crée avec ses hôtes une relation amicale et chaleureuse extrêmement agréable, sans parler des bons gâteaux de Laura et autres gâteries-surprises. Merci à vous deux.
C'est en toute conviction que nous recommandons ce logement.

Havre de paix en plein centre de Role
Nous avons vraiment adoré ce logement avec un accueil génial de Jean-Louis le propriétaire. Naturellement, il vous donnera des conseils (en français !) pour profiter au maximum de votre séjour.
Ce logement est en plus idéalement placé : en plein centre et dans une petite rue au calme. Il se compose de 2 appartements qui peuvent être indépendants (2 espaces cuisines et 2 salles d'eau) ou partagés et d'un magnifique patio arboré (grandes plantes vertes). La literie est parfaite.
Le petit-déjeuner, très copieux et composé de produits frais et locaux, peut être servi le matin dès 8h00 et la veille au soir si vous souhaitez partir très tôt le matin.

Fabulous find
This was our first time in Rome for myself and my two traveling companions. It's actually 2 separate apartments that you can open up for the group but provides some more privacy if you've been spending 24/7 for all of your waking hours for a week.
The descriptions of Jean-Louis were what sold me on picking this property. He is the perfect host. He makes you feel like you are visiting with a friend who helps you in any way needed. He arranged taxis for us that provided great service ( unlike the one we found at a taxi stand).
He helps with directions and suggestions for restaurants and sights to visit.
He asked what we liked for breakfast and kept the kitchen stocked for us. He even laid out table settings.
He shared homemade treats to eat and Roman drinks for us to try.
There are actually 2 separate apartments that can be opened up to each other. A great feature for a group spending 24/7 together.
The apartment is very clean and pleasantly decorated. Comfortable beds, good, warm water pressure in the shower.
Couldn't ask for a better location. Area is very safe and most locations are walkable from apartment.
I highly recommend Jean-Louis's apartment to anyone traveling to Rome.
