Un magnifique séjour passé dans ce très bel appartement typique romain. Roberta nous a réservé un très bel accueil et a pensé à tout pour que nous ne manquions de rien. Emplacement parfait à proximité de tout et à deux pas du Colisée. Inoubliable ! A réserver les yeux fermés.

We stayed in this apartment during the UK August 2020 Bank Holiday weekend staying for 4 nights. The apartment is very 'classy' and is extremely well kitted out in the kitchen for self catering which is a pleasant change from some other apartments that only have 2 wine glasses, a couple of plates and no cork screw !. The kitchen in Aurora al Colosseo has a great fridge with ice cubes on the ready, a toaster, coffee machine, kettle and all the cooking utensils you need. There are 2 bedrooms - one twin and one double - with 2 bathrooms - one a shower room the other with a bath & shower. At the back of the apartment is a lovely quaint library area with some great books which leads to a small balcony where you can sit and have a drink on 2 small chairs. Also on the balcony is an external cupboard with a washing machine in it which was very useful to wash clothes in an evening which we dried on the clothes lines which are attached to the balcony. Lovely host Roberta needs a special mention as her communication from start to finish was excellent - she communicated with us prior to our trip and throughout our stay making the trip a lot less stressful - arranging our airport transfers to and from the airport (Daniele was waiting at the airport with a placard) as well as greeting us at the property to show us around. Roberta also kindly allowed us to leave our luggage in the apartment after the formal check out time which enabled us to spend most of the last day seeing Rome. The apartment is on the 3rd floor which is a fair climb so you need to be fit as there isn't a lift in the building. There is a supermarket right across the street which is very convenient as it is open most of the time.

Being able to look out your window and see the Colosseum was amazing (you have to stick your head out the window, but it is literally a few doors down and across the street). Access to the metro was very easy and we used it often during our three night stay. The 24 7 market across the street was useful (weigh and ticket your produce and fresh bread to avoid standing out as a first time shopper/obvious tourist), and the pizza place just down the road that the hostess recommended was great. It was nice having the washing machine out on the balcony in the closet. Communication with hostess was very good. My only complaint was the hot water. Perhaps there was a trick to it, and admittedly I never asked for help, but sometimes the water would go cold. Still no regrets, we had a good stay!

If you are looking for traditional Italian living, this is the place. The floors, ceiling, and decor, gives you a glimpse how Italians live. The apartment is centrally located, easy to get around to historical and spiritual sites. Roberta is a true gem ensuring all guests are well taken care of. As you read the reviews below, the one consistent comment is Roberta. She is kind, helpful, gracious and just a delight! From arranging our transportation to and from the airport, providing maps and recommendations of places to visit and best restaurants to dine, she made our stay as easy as possible. She even carried our luggage up 6 flights of stairs! What can I say? We love her. The condo is kept clean and spotless. We looked, as we are both total germaphobes. It is well equipped with everything you need; hairdryers, umbrellas, converter plugs, soaps....even a few water bottles in the frig. The kitchen has a Nespresso machine, in case you are one who enjoys good expresso in the morning (yes!). Did I mention the great location? The place is located 1 block from the Colosseum and is amazingly quiet for such a popular spot. Across the street is a 24-hour grocery store, around the corner is a Taxi station, and you are a short walk to the Metro and bus stop. Getting around was super easy. One thing you rarely find in Rome is good a/c. It was hot when we arrived in Rome (85-90 degrees). Every day when we left the condo, we turned off the a/c to conserve, and had absolutely no problem cooling down the condo quickly upon our return. Be sure to dine at some of the restaurants in the neighborhood. They are all delish! My only advise or word of caution is to be aware that you will have to traverse 6 flights of stairs. So, if you are not in the best of health, travel with minimal luggage. Roberta will help you, but you will still navigate 6 flights of stairs every time you return to the condo. This was not an issue for my niece nor myself, but it could be for the elderly or anyone with knee issues. There is not an elevator. Also, if you are a large person, the master bathroom shower is small and may be too tight. However, the spare bathroom shower is spacious and has ample room. In short, this condo was a wonderful find and I will definitely return!

First of all, Roberta was an amazing hostess. She went above and beyond to ensure that we were comfortable and provided some great recommendations for restaurants and sites to see. She also left a couples bottles of water in fridge, wine and coffee as welcome treats. The apartment was absolutely spotless - SUPER CLEAN!!! No dust, even under the beds (I dropped something and took a peek... very impressive!). It was very comfortable furnished and a wonderful place to come back and relaxing after exploring and eating our way through Rome. Also, despite being in the center of all the action, the apartment is incredibly quiet when the windows are shut. We were very pleased to discover that Roberta provides a washing machine if you want to do laundry and a blow dryer. Can't say enough good things about this place or its owner! I can't wait to come back!!!

Walk out the door to the building, turn left and there is the COLOSSEUM! Literally only across the street. Also, near is a 'quick mart'. In the area are numerous restaurants, bars and even gelaterias. Also plenty of near-by very interesting old churches. One of the handy things is the taxi stand only a 3 minute walk away. Be aware that this apartment is on the fourth floor (no elevator). However, Roberta was there to help us carry up our bags; she even carried my granddaughter's who had packed enough to continue on after our trip for a month of study. Big kitchen with table and 4 chairs and beautiful old side board that Roberta's father had made. In addition, there is a dining area adjusting to the living room. A small balcony off of one of the bedrooms was delightful. The four of us (multi-generational) loved it!

We can't say enough good things about our stay at Roberta's apartment. The pictures don't do it justice. It was everything we were expecting and more. The location is literally steps away from the Colosseum. Roberta was amazing to work with. She truly cares about people enjoying their stay in her apartment. She provided maps and even put together a booklet of places to visit while there. We hope to return soon!

Hmm.. luck has nothing to do with it! We keep going back as the apartment is everything we hope for every time... The location is great with a supermarket opposite, quiet surroundings at night, plenty of public transport and a fabulous view from the kitchen and lounge windows. However, what makes it outstanding is Roberta. Once again she was able to point us to new places to go and things to see and, as usual, was a caring and enthusiastic friend in Rome. Each year I almost don’t post a review as I don’t want the apartment fully booked so that we can’t have it, but it just wouldn’t be fair to try and hide this gem! Roll on next year - I can’t wit.

Aurora al Colosseo è stata un'autentica sorpresa, ho soggiornato con la mia famiglia (2 adulti e 2 bambini) in questo splendido appartamento situato proprio difronte al Colosseo. Appena entrati ci siamo innamorati dell'architettura e del calore che sprigionava la casa e la gentilezza e la cortesia di Roberta, la proprietaria, ha fatto sì che ci siamo realmente sentiti come a casa nostra. Le cose che porteremo nel nostro cuore di questa casa sono: - La comodità dei letti, - La pulizia degli ambienti, - La meravigliosa vista del colosseo al tramonto, - I momenti di relax che si possono avere guardando un film su netflix o leggendo uno dei libri dalla fornitissima biblioteca a fianco della camera, - La posizione centralissima rispetto a tutte le attrazioni di Roma, - La comodità per raggiungere i mezzi pubblici (Metro a 200 mt., Tram ed autobus sotto casa) - La gentilezza e la simpatia di Roberta, la proprietaria, che non ci ha fatto mancare nulla e ci ha supportato prontamente in qualsiasi esigenza. Mi sà proprio che noi ci ritorneremo presto! Assolutamente consigliato alle famiglie.
