We apologize for the tardiness of our review! We had a wonderful time staying at the cottage for a week in May. Emanuela was the perfect hostess and even brought us coffee and chocolate each morning! She gave us plenty of suggestions for things to see around our area. We did our best to learn some italian phrases, but her English is fantastic, so communication was a breeze. The cottage was nicely equipped for what we needed. We made several of our breakfasts and dinners there. It was a very quiet and cozy place to come back to after a long day of sightseeing. We loved having her dog, Rex, visit us most days. He was very sweet and well-behaved. There’s a small market around the corner with a nice deli and most essentials, within walking distance. We found a much larger market about 10 minutes north by car on S3, a CTS Supermercati. For some fantastic pizza, try the little shop in Sacrofano at the corner of Strada Provinciale 10a and Via Sesto Staffoli. The owner was very nice and gave us some extra dessert. For traveling into Rome, we drove to the station at Montebello and took the train. That was the easiest way since tourists aren’t allowed to park in several areas of the city, sections designated as ZTL. We look forward to coming back to Italy again soon and highly recommend Emanuela’s cottage!

L'hôte est charmante, disponible, à votre écoute sans être trop présente, de plus elle parle un français parfait. Elle a pris vraiment à coeur la réussite de notre séjour et y est parvenue, malgré une période de l'année où beaucoup de choses sont indisponibles à cause des fêtes et des nombreux jours fériés. Nous pensons que cette location mériterait un peu d'aménagement supplémentaire au niveau de la cuisine et nécessite une voiture pour être moins tributaire des transports(attention toutefois à la conduite italienne). Le village de Sacrofano est beau, très typique, c'est la campagne, les gens y sont gentils et serviables, la nourriture y est délicieuse, les produits sont locaux, c'est un séjour pour les gens qui veulent connaitre l'äme de l'Italie.

Emanula and her family are the perfect hosts, she was very accommodating and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the cottage and would definitely recommend it. The cottage is very pretty, comfortable and fully air-conditioned. The kitchen is equipped with everything you would need and Emanula has provided a folder of information with details of almost all the local attractions, her recommendations and a tourist map of the city – very useful! Emanula will also answer any questions about the local area and help you out wherever possible. Monte Caminetto is very small but there is a shop and café just round the corner from cottage. The train into Rome takes about 20 minutes from Montebello and slightly longer to Sacrofano (the closest station, about 1km from the cottage). We took a lot of day trips in and around Rome so hired a car of part of our stay – hiring a care isn’t necessary but we would recommend this if you want a little more freedom. Also they have a very friendly dog called Rex!
