The privileged and dominant position, a few steps from the main tourist and cultural attractions of the historic center, allows you to admire from the large windows the Amalfi Coast and the sea. The two double bedrooms and 2 single sofa-beds, one in the bedroom and the other in the living room, can accommodate up to 6 people. Trotula Charming House is located in an ancient convent of the Olivetan Benedictine monks converted into a noble residence at the end of 1600, in the Historical Center of Salerno (within the Limited Traffic Zone) between the ancient Cathedral and the Garden of Minerva . The apartment has been renovated and restored protecting and enhancing the original environments. On the thick walls, the plasterwork and the original frescoes dating from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries were discovered and recovered. The high ceilings with wooden beams, brought to light through the demolition of the false ceilings, return to ennoble the rooms. The privileged and dominant position of the prestigious historical-artistic building allows to admire from the large windows the roofs of the Old Town, the sea that bathes Salerno and the Amalfi Coast. Through the creation of artisan supplies and a careful selection of the furnishing elements in this project realized by Studio Architects at Work there is a particular sensitivity that binds the contemporaneity of the interventions to the historicity of the places, enveloping the visitor in an atmosphere of unique charm. The apartment, whose rooms all have a bright southern exposure, is accessed through the living room with kitchen, dining table, large sofa with an extra bed and two balconies. The two double bedrooms, with direct access from the living room, both have a private bathroom and a balcony. The city center, the historic center and the nearby Via Roma and Corso Vittorio Emanuele are the hub of Salerno's nightlife with their bars, shops and restaurants and historical-cultural life thanks to the many places of interest and museums that can be visited. From the Trotula Charming House you can easily reach the Amalfi Coast thanks to the continuous bus and ferry connections. The apartment that is located within the Limited Traffic Zone of the historic center is located in a prestigious historic-artistic building and is at guests' complete disposal. The building does not have a lift. Trotula Charming House is easily reachable from the nearby Cathedral of Salerno through a characteristic pedestrian alley of 300 meters and is located on the second floor (34 steps). On request and subject to availability it is possible to reserve a parking space in a private garage 300 meters away (Additional Cost) It is possible to organize transfers from Naples, Rome and the Amalfi Coast. (Additional Cost) On request it is possible to organize boat trips or tourist flights on the Amalfi Coast. (Additional Cost) I can help you to rent a car with delivery and collection at the entrance to the Limited Traffic Zone adjacent to the apartment or at the Naples Airport. (Additional Cost) On request it is possible to organize coastal trips on board of vintage cars (Volkswagen Minivan for groups or Volkswagen Beetles and Fiat 500 for couples) (Additional Cost) I can put you in touch with Tourist Guides and Trekking for trips and visits throughout the regional territory.More

I stayed her over New Years and had an absolutely amazing time. It was in the center of city, walking distance to restaurants. I even extended it for an extra day!

Such an amazing space! The photos don’t do it justice it is just breathtaking. We had a wonderful 4 nights at the Julius Studio and wish we had booked it for longer. The room is large and spacious with a small kitchenette and nespresso machine. The bathroom is quite stylish with a large open shower. We just loved hanging out in the room listing to the sounds of the city coming through the windows and having coffee looking out over the views. So relaxing. The old city is beautiful with many restaurants and shops. The train station and ferry to Positano and Amalfi are a 23 minute walk away. Communication with the host was rapid and friendly as was our check in. doubt I will ever stay somewhere as beautiful! Would love to come back to Salerno and stay again in the future. Grazie Mille!

Giulio's apartment is exactly as it appears in the photos -- very clean, great views, and very historic. Gerardo met us at the apartment to check us in, and he gave us many insightful tips on where to go and what to do in Salerno. The pizzaria at the bottom of the street has delicious food at very reasonable prices. This was our first trip to Salerno and though we knew there were hills, we underestimated just how steep some of those hills are. We definitely got a workout. We were aware of the fact that the apartment is near the top of a hill and that taxis can only take you so far, but it was a bit difficult for us to make that hike up to the apartment and then up all the steps in the apartment, especially with our luggage (though Gerardo was kind enough to carry our bags up the stairs once we reached the apartment). But one of us had injured her knee before the trip and both of us are probably not in as good shape as most Italians, who walk much more than most Americans (something we can learn from them). Just be aware that you will be going uphill often. We did love the views from the apartment, though, and of course you cannot get such wonderful views without being up high. We enjoyed the fact that there are not as many tourists in Salerno as in some of the other nearby towns, and we found the locals to be friendly and very helpful. Giulio had left us a welcome gift of a bottle of Prosecco and some pastries, which was a very thoughtful and much-appreciated touch. He was quick to respond before the trip, and Gerardo or others were quick to respond to any questions or requests we had during our stay. We had them arrange for a taxi to come for us at the bus stop at the bottom of the hill twice. The wifi in the apartment was good too. All in all, this is a lovely apartment. Oh, and the beds are super-comfortable, the most comfortable beds we've slept in in any Airbnb place. The water pressure was good and both bathrooms have nice showers with large shower heads. Very comfortable place to stay.

Giulio’s place is perfectly located with a nice view on to the sea. What’s even better is the tasteful renovation of the renaissance era house and the stylish and practical furniture. Whether you want to stay home and read or venture out and discover Salerno, Amalfi Coast or Paestum, this is THE perfect place.

About the neighborhood
We are in the historic center of Salerno, in the heart of the city. A stone's throw from the Duomo and the Giardini della Minerva.
Getting around
We are in a limited traffic area, we do not recommend the car. In any case there are garages in the immediate vicinity of the apartment.
