Great location for exploring Kent. The shepherds hut experience was my first. This place CANNOT be faulted.... It was a VERY good experience. Alastair and Janice were the perfect hosts, very hospitable, but left you to enjoy the experience... This is a MUST visit place...More

2 lovely shepherds huts near Bethersden - very helpful and friendly hosts. Breakfast was delivered to our outside pantry - eggs, bacon, tomatoes, m/rooms, bread, butter, conserves, muesli & cereal. A perfect venue for a quiet birthday treat. Excellent accommodation, warm, clean, quiet and picturesque. Delicious fresh ingredients provided for self-catered breakfast/brunch. Would highly recommend and plan to stay again ourselves.

About the neighborhood
Bethersden - set in the Weald of Kent, adjoining the parishes of Smarden and Pluckey - is a small village and five miles (8 km) west of Ashford, Kent. The village has a shop and post office, two public houses – The Bull and The George. It has a beautiful church (St Margaret's), built in the early 15th century, and a Baptist church (Union Chapel). Bethersden formerly well-known for producing Marble [used in the font at Canterbury Cathedral] and was a centre of the Kentish wool trade.
