Days for a great break in the historical centre of a small pretty city!
The apartment is in the heart of the old town, on a privileged location: right in front of the riverside. So you'll see the birds fishing in the morning, and the sun sets will just be yours, on a huge 4 meters wide window on the river.
In addition to the views, the silence is one of the pros of the apartment; the river is very quiet, and as I live on the apartment below your you won't have parties every night (or you'll be one in it! :) )

This room can be perfectly closed so no light comes in if you need absolute darkness to sleep. This room has air conditioning and central heating, and also a couple of fans if you are not friend of a.c.
Next to this room, the huge gallery has this views on the river: some 4 meters wide windows, with the typical Mediterranean blinds, painted in blue. Over there you have a small kitchen, working on electric: vitro-ceramic cooks, and microwave. Also a fridge of course.
The bathroom is small but very comfortable: as the hot water comes from a gas heater, you will never miss a good shower.
As you can see in the pictures, the decoration is spare so you won't be disturbed, and the parquet flooring makes it very worm and cosy. We have tried to make it simple and elegant.
We have recently added a washing machine in a small room on the entrance, that you can use free of charge.
Neighbours: the building has 4 floor. Above yours, a nice guy that grows tomatoes on the roof. In front, the other apartment to rent but there are two doors in between so you'll hardly hear anything. And below yours, my own apartment.
The basement of the building is a nice bar called La Terra, but no music comes through (I am very sensitive to ambiance music!)
The apartment has recently been renovated, and the builing was made by a famous local architect, Rafel Maso. It has its museum two doors away, but unfortunately our building has only a few details on Maso style.
As the apartment is just in the city centre, everything is there: restaurants, take away food, supermarkets, museums... and of course the cathedrals, les Rambles... Actually I have a blog with my recommendations of Girona- I can't write the web address in there, but you'll have it when you book.
Girona is a small city so it takes less than 20 minutes to get anywhere from the centre: the train station is about 20 minutes walk.
There is no transit behind the apartment, apart from birds passing by.
As we want the things to be really easy, you may check in as late as you need as the apartment lock works with a code. Also, you may check out late if there is no booking for the same day.
Girona is a city that call for long walks, for quiet evenings with a glass of wine, or maybe for a theatre or music night? Also, at it is very safe, you can walk until late at night, by the old wall, by the river...
There a good number of occasions to visit Girona: Girona temps de flors, when all the city is dressed with flowers, or by Easter, with the Processó de Setmana Santa. Also Fires by end octuber (thou it may be a bit crowded).
There is a very nice bar downstairs, and they'll let you pick your order upstairs and enjoy it at the apartment.
You won't find a nicest place in Girona. Also, as I am a private owner I can keep the price very reasonable.
Please contact me if you plan a long stay during low season. I am very open to long stays. We already have had a writer and a journalist with good inspiration!

Great place to stay
Perfectly positioned in narrow street in centre of small city of Girona with all tourist spots within short distance, including country walks. Note that everywhere in Girona is either up or down hill (including up 60 stairs to the apartment). The apartment’s facilities are modern, despite being in an old building. Fascinating view over river from dining area. Parking is a problem but once we found a spot (free) we stayed there for the 5 days of our stay.
A great holiday in a lovely city.

Super Lage, wunderschöner Ausblick!
Die Lage der Wohnung machte unseren Aufenthalt in Girona zu einem Highlight. An dem kleinen Tisch an der Fensterfront am Fluss könnte man stundenlang sitzen und das Geschehen rundherum verfolgen. Die Ausstattung ist einfach aber komplett, es gibt alles, was man braucht. Check-in und -out waren unkompliziert. Wenn wir einmal wieder nach Girona kommen, möchten wir unbedingt wieder hier wohnen.

Excellent central location perfect apartment
Amazing location apartment for 3 for myself! My husband and daughter. Very easy and extremely convenient check in and out. Close to everything on this pedestrian street: stores and restaurants and major attractions like the cathedral. 15 min walk to train station and buses even closer. Incredible beautiful view of the river: loved the huge wall window of the whole kitchen. Kitchen had everything to cook meals. Shower very small but had Great hot water for the shower. No computer as per descriptions, but that's ok we had our own iPad mini etc. Very spacious. Lots of closet space for clothes and stuff. Small suggestion to have a space to put soap and shampoo in shower and more towel racks for towels to dry in bathroom.. Tip: if you rent a car there is convenient 24 hour paid but safe parking at train station which exactly we rented car for 3 days to visit closest beach Lloret del mar 35 minute drive, Tossa del mar 35 min , port lligat: Dali's house 1.5 hr, a must yo visit Cadaques 7 minute drive and from there Roses 20 min drive.

An excellent location for exploring Girona.
The apartment is in a superb position in the old town - near to all amenities and places of interest. The apartment was very clean , the bed was comfortable and it was lovely to be able to look out of the window over the river while having breakfast.
All in all we were satisfied with our stay there but I do have some constructive criticisms. The apartment is on the third floor up some steep stairs which is something to bear in mind for anybody with mobility issues. The stairwell itself could do with a clean. The shower entrance is very narrow and might pose a problem for some and the shower head holder on the wall was very wobbly and could be replaced for a more functional one. There is a frosted window in the bathroom, next to the toilet, which looks onto the laundry room shared with the apartment opposite - I think the window should perhaps have a blind otherwise one can feel rather exposed especially at night when you need the light on in there. Also an extractor fan would be good. We ate out all the time we were there but, if we'd wanted to cook a meal at the apartment the equipment is quite basic and the crockery is mismatched which isn't really a problem although a few proper wine glasses would be nice.
If you are visiting in the summer, as we did, the air conditioning is excellent and not too noisy and the riverside location means there is not a lot of noise at night.

Perfect... We don't want to say too much as this really is a hidden gem. Without a question, book it. Perfect in all ways for a small family. Massive comfortable bed and a sofa bed separated by Japanese screen. Wonderful view of river... And envy of our family who were staying nearby for a lot more!

Million dollar view
We spent two weeks in Girona in November, staying in Riverside A. Previous reviews cover pretty well everything - Bright and airy apartment, perfect for two people (might be a little crowded for any more that that), everything worked well. David's check-in instructions were easy to follow, he provided lots of useful information about restaurants, places to see, hiking trails etc. We walked everywhere. Apartment is located in the old town and close to everything. Loved how quiet it was with the view of the river. Hard to believe you were in a city! We took a taxi from the train station and the driver was surprised we were staying for so long - said we could see everything in four hours...absolutely not true :-) Lots of historical sites, cultural spaces, music, markets, restaurants etc. etc. We would highly recommend this place - except for people with mobility issues, as the apartment is located on the third floor with steep windy stairs (59 steps...)

Fabulous views over the riverside
Unfortunately due to a flight cancellation we only had one night at Davids lovely apartment .
If in Girona , then walk the walls... don't care if you are unfit , breathless or whatever just take it at your own pace the views and perspective are worth it ...They are such a great connection to the city's past .
Enjoy the tapas and the authentic food on the walls perimeters and yes all the wine we found was very good
Davids apartment is located in the best part of town for a real Girona experience .

Perfect location in beautiful surroundings
Staying at Girona riverside allows you the luxury of waking up to the beautiful river views every morning. The location of the apartment is excellent, right in the old town near the cathedral, Jewish quarter, many restaurants and just a short walk from the new town, train and bus station.
We were delighted to realise that Casa Maso is just a few doors down, it is definitely worth a visit.
The layout of the apartment is perfect for a couple, family or solo traveller. It's pretty open plan so would be fine for a group as long as they didn't mind sharing the space. The place is bright and airy with a small kitchen area located in a gally. There are lots of facilities and I was impressed with the computed for internet access.
I would love to return someday !

Amazing location, beautiful apartment, great value for money
This central apartment is actually 4 doors down from Casa Maso - with the same renowned riverside view!!! While it is on the third floor, the short climb is well worth it as the apartment is kept in perfect condition, exactly like the photo's describe. The space is well thought out and utilised, bright and airy with good A/C, a fan and the added bonus of a fairly fast computer and wifi as well. I've been recommending this apartment to all of my friends/family because it's the best place we've rented in a long time.

The area is the historical centre of Girona. The area is enchanting for walks along the City Wall, the gardens, the Cathedral... A part of this area was the jewish quarter 5 centuries ago. You can still feel their footsteps on the narrow streets of the city.
The area is full of shops and restaurants.
There are many festivals along all year: a flower festival, a religious music festival, and traditional celebrations around Christmas and Easter.
