I am grateful to the owner Luiz for taking me to the hospital when I was ill but I still must give a review of the property because things weren't as stated. I was not happy with the accommodation and asked for compensation but was offered my money back for nights not taken if I left early.
The area is not quiet but next to an extremely busy road and it's not 200 ms to the nearest beach(not popular with tourists.)but 10 mins walk. The supermarket is 7 mins up a very steep hill, Luiz will take you there once a week. The town centre is 15mins walk & Las Canteras beach 30 mins The pictures of the building are very misleading. Its not on a corner, the outside is very tatty, there is no garden just a concreted area with open drains to look at and nothing else and very old garden furniture.
Inside it smelled musty (which affected me because I have asthma) most of the time. Furniture is held together with sellotape, and the settee is enormous, you have to 'climb' on to it to sit on it, it wobbles about, it has holes in the upholstery and it was full of dust. The dining room doors are sellotaped and there is no glass in the frames. You have to climb on a chair to get the blinds down and to close the windows some of the windows took me ten minutes to close at times. The washing machine is ancient and has to be thumped to get it started and its located in an old garage which stinks. The door fell off the flat pack wardrobe and Luiz screwed it together with a too large screw which stuck out dangerously. Whilst in the shower room I locked the door and couldn't get it open again, Luiz had to come and unscrew the lock to get me out, he replaced the lock. WORST OF ALL LUIZ HAS AN ALSATIAN THAT BARKS A LOT, QUITE SCARY. The paintwork on the walls has black marks everywhere. There are missing shades on a lot of the lights.
