Mountains surround the lake and city. This apt. is IN Annecy, not in a town NEAR Annecy. Annecy is a great base city for day skiing or cycling tours. There are several ski stations 30 minutes away. Chamonix, Grenoble and Albertville are all within one hour. A biking path goes around the lake if cycling is what you are looking for. Interaction with guests
The interaction with guests is primarily through email. There is an Annecy based manager for emergencies. The apartment will be prepared for your arrival and you will receive a code to the lock-box on the exterior of the building. There is also a land-line phone inside the apartment that renters are welcome to use and may contact me either by phone, or email.
There is also a Welcome Book which answers most questions about the apartment and provides general information about Annecy.

We stayed in this apartment for 2 weeks in August, and it was perfect. Plenty of room for our family of 5, easy walking distance to the old town and the lake, car parking and separate laundry facilities. The owner was very easy to deal with, quick to respond to email enquiries, and left beach toys for our young children....

So happy you enjoyed Annecy, and that the apartment added to your overall enjoyment! We keep working on improvements. I plead guilty to being slow at times on the TripAdvisor site...however, it has updated its software so it is more owner-friendly....so I hope to improve my reply times. :)

Lovely old building with plenty of room. Walking distance to the old town. Markets easily accessed and shopping close by.

About the neighborhood
This apartment is in an EXCELLENT location! Beautiful Lake Annecy is a short walk away! There is a Galeries Lafayette store, just one block to the east. There is a larger mall, including grocery store, and access into the pedestrian walking mall, just a couple blocks to the west. The train station is right on the other side of the mall and it's a ten minute walk to the apartment from the train station. The main bus station is also at the train station. We are walking distance to all. The bus stops across the street. There is also a private parking lot for the apartment building. This building has ten apartments; it's a nice small complex. Getting around
Walking is convenient from the apartment. Grocery, dining, the lake, markets and more are all within walking distance. The train station and main bus station are also within a ten minute walk. There is a bus stop right outside of the apartment.
My husband and I don't normally rent a car when we stay at the apartment. We arrive either by TGV from Paris or, if we fly into Geneva, we arrange for a driver to meet us and drive us to Annecy.

How to get there
Airport: Geneva: 39.8 mi
Railway: Annecy: 0.5 mi
Renters arrive in various forms. If by vehicle, there is a private parking lot and each rental is allocated one space. If by train, the apartment is about a ten minute walk from the train station. If you have a lot of luggage, or if walking needs to be kept to a minimum, you can opt to take the bus from the train station and arrive across the street from the apartment. Or a taxi. If arriving in Geneva by plane, it is recommended to hire a driver to meet you at the airport and be brought directly to the apartment. I can provide more info on this option upon request.
